why? the Pzkfw V Panther was designed in the way that showed path of the tank design up to the 1960.. sloped armor rather than Tiger thick skin, agile, able to kill at long distances.
common knowledge, 5 shermans to kill one Tiger.
Anyway the German armors were probably not that cost effective and easy to replace when compared to the WWII bestseller T34
finally I would like to highlight the fact that most battles allied vs german were won by Allied air superiority and Jabos, not by armor vs armor fighting.

The German tanks in the second half of WWII were all better than the allied tanks with the exception of the T-34. In the first half, invasion of Poland, France, and the low countries the Allies had a clear advantage. The Germans just out generalled them for their victories. The second half of the war the Germans had a clear advantage. Their only problem was the could not manufacture them fast enough, part due to the allied bombing and part do to the Germans changing designs so often. The Allies shortly after D-day had close to a 8 to 1 advantage in tanks over the Germans. The Russians, with the exception for a short period around the Battle for Moscow, always had a the Germans out numbered.

German Tiger Tanks were superior. Mostly better armor, larger guns (as compared to the Sherman Tanks for example).
Also, I *believe* the Tiger tanks were Diesel powered. The Shermans were gasoline powered. If they got hit in the wrong place, you would have an explosion. Diesel does not explode the way gasoline does, so, the survivability in a Tiger was greater than in a Sherman.

The German's had superior tanks in armor and firepower. We had slightly faster ones and out numbered them. Russia also mass produced lighter tanks. This way we over ran the Germans

Tiger tanks had better armor and better fire power.
But Sherman tanks had better speed and maneuverability.
Considering that the US won every major tank battle we fought against the Germans ( except the first one ).
I'd have to say, that speed and maneuverability were more important than armor and fire power.
The Russians proved, maneuverability is the key ,
Going gainst the King Tigers.
( a very powerful tank, but slow and not very maneuverable.)

The Panzers were the more superior tanks. We were years from that kind of knowledge. However, we had the SMART factor. Our Generals were much more attune to tactics and not bull headed as were the German Commanders. That is why we beat them. Tactics.
