Wow.. Looking at the mix of answers, looks like you've caused quite a stir! Well I have to agree that I can feel their pain and that I admire Kate for making all the sacrifices that she's made!
People will always say stupid things like 'they got what they deserve for leaving them alone...etc etc...' Thats just complete ignorance!
Leaving your child alone doesn't justify their abduction! In this day and age I'll admit that it's not the most sensable idea, but comments like that just don't help... it's happened, it's done, they know what they did wrong and now they're trying to correct it!
I remember as a kid going off to the park with just my younger brothers... no mobile phones back then, and that was further than 100 yards... more like 2 1/2 miles...
Now I know things have changed since then but I still maintain that no good comes from looking at how and why, but more, what next and how can we help! Stay safe ya'll

To be honest I don't think she should have left her kids alone to begin with and then she wouldn't have found herself in this situation!......

And why would she want to be away from her other 2 kids to go on a child saving crusade! I think she is trying to make herself a marter out of something that was her fault - I'm sorry if this comes across as harsh but I feel I am a good mum and under no circumstances would I have ever considered doing what she did all for the sake of some food, peace and quiet!

Not many people are able to give up their job unexpectedly just like that, most people would still have to go to work just to survive. The McCanns have got nearly £1 million in the Find Madeleine fund to spend more or less how they want. I personally think she is using the excuse of finding other missing children to justify spending the money. Have to wait and see.

I have two children and I don't leave them alone to take the trash out much less go to dinner. Even if they were 10 or 20 feet away from their villa it doesn't excuse their neglect. Yeah I do feel sorry for them becuase no parent should have her child abducted but you've got to be vigilant. Leaving them in that villa and just checking on the them is not being vigilant.

How can anyone say thay have only lost one child so they need to just get on with it...beats me...

I pitty them...BUT... they were the one who left their children ALONE in a hotel room, in a strange country. If they wanted an adult holiday they should have left the children with responsible babysitters at home.

That said I hope they find her very soon x

She should give up her job and dedicate most of her time to bringing up her two remaining children, not keep putting them into daycare, they still need stability, but I doubt they are getting this, in the meantime she can still campaign to find her missing daughter, the one who went missing while they were out dining.

i agree, they are doing a great job and whos to say they are doing the wrong thing no one really knows how they would cope unless it happens to them. the twins are being looked after so why should they stop searching for their daughter?

I would of not gone out leaving my children alone in a hotel room so I would not be in the position of the McCanns.
So no, I would not of done what the McCanns have done.
