I'm English learning spanish and I know how you feel.
I can speak and write basic spanish, I can get the gist of things when I read them but unless the Spanish slow down when they talk to me I cannot understand a word they say.
I currently live in Manchester but will eventually emigrate to Spain (I have a house there)
You could always buddy up with me and I could correct you're written English and reply in Spanish and you could correct mine, but please remember I only have a UK keyboard so can't punctuate in Spanish.
e.g. 'I'm from Spain. I've been living in London for 1 year and my English is not good enough to live in England or at least for me it is very frustrating. I really want to speak English fluently but I think I can't improve my English now.
Can someone give me some advice?'
Email me if you think this would work.

If you want to live in someone elses' country, you should learn the language. I plan on working in France for a while when i'm older, so I'm learning French. I don't expect that people speak to me in English. I'm also taking on Spanish at university and i'd like to teach in South America for a year or so... Again, I don't expect the natives to speak English... I should be expected to speak Spanish. Similarly, I expect that immigrants who come to an English speaking country learn our language.

There are classes for English as a second language. Usually in Oxford street there are people handing out leaflets for these courses.
Otherwise - what company do you keep? If you are all the time with Spanish people, then you will not be speaking enough English. Try and make friends with some English people, watch English television and try and read an English newspaper.
Good luck.

For the writing and listening, you can watch more TV programmes, specially kids channels, you will know much more English which you never expected. For the communication, you have to talk more with others, such as church, elder center, chartity center, or maybe you go to work and talk with your coworkers. It really can help. Have a great day!

well it looks like that your English is pretty good judging on how you wrote it.... the best way to learn english and speak it fluently is to hang around people who speak english a lot... it will help you cause you will hear how they say the words... and then how they use the words in the sentences... and if you dont know what a word means... jsut write it down.. and look it up later... that is the best way to learn... not by books...

Yo pensé que a los nativos de España en inglés se les llamaba Spaniards .
Acerca de su pregunta, creo que tiene lo más importante, vivir en Londres. Probablemente un año no sea suficiente. Por lo general se necesita mas tiempo

Go here: http://www.english180.com/
It is completely FREE, and has a ton of lessons that are very useful, all in animated using Flash, and all focus on pronunciation. They also have videos, podcasts, games, quizzes, and more.
