Knowledge and experience are power and the key to life. We enter this world to learn and the best way to learn is to experience. I believe there is a higher power and he/she is not an ogre who judges and punishes us and condemns us to hell if we do wrong. I believe that we pick our life before we come here, so everything that I go through good or bad is happening because I chose it to happen so that I could experience and learn......Kind of like put yourself in someone else's shoes.
I am less confused about what I think is our purpose and where we come from and where we go now than I was when I was being raised catholic. I believe all this with the inner depth on my soul to be true. That is all that matters. What makes you get through the day, that is what is important. And we shouldn't feel confused or feel we are challenging our spiritual moral values and if we feel guilt it is probably not right for us. What is right for me may not be right for you, and I believe no matter what we all go to the same place no matter how good or how bad. If we mess up, we just have to do it again until it is right. Be in Peace and Love

First, of all, you have to understand that there is a difference between Christians who live by the Bible and others that say they are Christian but know very little about the Bible. I am not saying this to be mean or ugly. I am just saying it makes a difference. Christian who believe and live their live in accordance with the Bible do not believe they gain infinite knowledge of the universe at dead because the Bible teaches that once you die you are conscious of nothing at all. Ecclesiastes 9:5 All of their learning will have to come before they die or after the resurrection. John 5:28. The Bible encourages us to learn all that we can about the Creator Jehovah God and his son, Jesus, now and apply what we learn in our lives so that we can live better lives now and be prepared to live forever on earth when wickedness is gone from the earth. John 17:3. At that point, when wickedness is gone, those remaining on earth will have all eternity to learn everything that God wants them to know. Psalms 37:9,10,11,and 29. While living forever, you can study animal life, plant life, the human body, music, language, various arts, teach yourself to play every musical instrument out there and even make some new ones, everything and anything you want to learn about, things that we may not have had the opportunity to learn about now in this short life of 60-85 years average. Psalms 145:16 It will be more than just singing and praying but it all will bring praise to the Creator of life. Jehovah

"The only true knowledge consists in knowing that you know nothing." - Socrates
The secret of life:
In the Spring, smell the roses.
In the Summer, bask in the sun.
In the Fall, jump in the leaves.
In the Winter, go sledding.
If you do all of these things you will live a complete and happy life. I know, I am doing so now, right after I get off Y! Answers.
The Answer to The Ultimate Question Of Life, the Universe and Everything is a theoretical solution in Douglas Adams' book series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. The "Answer" is simply "42".

Ahhh, and many of those "Greater thinkers" believe in God!
I don't know how old you are but for those of us that are in our 40's and 50's we can look back to our teens and 20's, back then we were 100% sure that we had all the answers and our parents were stupid!
Age, expirence, maturity, education all influence our being, and we realize that we were not all that. That is when we can really study faith, life, and the state of our soul, not that we now have all the answers, but faith in God makes so much more sence when we drop our arrogance and look with adult reasoning.
For me, I became Catholic.
Good Luck to you!

That's where faith comes into play. There is duality in human kind. The answer i have found is to balance yourself between the two opposing forces, call it light and dark, good and bad, positive and negative or whatever suits you but balance is the key.
Not always easy but that part of the game of life that we are all players in.Words can sometimes help, hence the chanting of mantras and prayers. Focus thoughts for good things and hopefully some answers will become apparent to you.

yes
you wont find the truth by amassing knowledge
the more you learn the more questions you will have
because knowledge is infinite
im not saying knowledge is bad
its wrong to horde it though
or to lust for it
theres a different kind of knowing
that doesnt involve thought
that you sense when the thinking mind is quiet
that cannot be put into words

One apostle said "and now its as if we look through a glass darkly" this "dark glass" is the state of misunderstanding while having the source of all knowledge in the palm of your hands. In todays world, people have a tendacy to look at the world thro christian eyes. christianity is filled with lies & deception! This distorts the images we think we see. However, in seeing we see not, in hearing we hear not. In the HOUSE OF YAHWEH all the lies & deception are cleared away & our sight is returned 2 us with out clouduness. In the HOUSE, "knowledge = POWER " Ur confusion is due to religious traditionalizm. Take off the religious glasses. The truth has never been taught u in church. Call the HOUSE, 325-670-9494, ask at Abel, that we settle the matter!!!!!

The simple truth of life is -
We believe whatever makes us happier regardless of fact or other peoples beliefs .
Human beings have not yet evolved enough to accept that each of us is an individual and individuals do not have to share beliefs in order to live in harmony .
It will come one day and we will forever more mourn the ignorance of our ancestors .

Totally and utterly yes. I have written on here before that for every question I ask I seem to find two more come in its place. I do have faith in God's existance, but my constant questioning, although it hasn't ever led me to think I am wrong about this, has led me to wonder if the words "God Loves Me" are anything other than misguided piffle. I really don't get how he can.

The more I gain knowledge, if I don't understand it immediately I look to someone who can explain it to me in words that make more sense, or I simply examine it analytically and come to my own conclusions then bounce the conclusions off of someone more learned than I.
