Go forth and replenish the Earth!!!!!

It's a manual on how. (what works and what doesn't)

By the way, Genetics supports this, although the information was probably acquired via trial and error in those days.

In the beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, they had to multiply. How else could they have done it, if God did not allow them to? It wasn't a bad thing then, because people had to populate the earth. It was done for a specific reason. But, there came a time when God decided it was no longer acceptable, so it was banned. Everyone on this earth is related back to Adam and Eve.
Can you name all the verses you are talking about? A lot of things written in the Bible are there because they simply are history. It doesn't mean God approves of it. The Bible tells about Judas' betrayal of Jesus. Does that mean God thought that was ok, to betray the Lord? Of course not. You need to read the Bible in the context it was written.

There aren't "many verses" that talk about incest. Abraham and Sarah were half brother and sister. In the beginning we cannot say or know for sure if others were created after Adam and Eve in the same way. It does not give that detail. When Cain was forced out of the Garden of Eden he took his wife with him, for all we know she was not his sister and was from another family God had made. I find it sad that some people put limits on God and how many in the beginning he did create. Adam may have been the first man, but to say there weren't others created in the same manner is short-sightedness

The bible was written by a tribal people over 2000 years ago. Many of the rules especially in the Old Testament were designed to make the tribe work smoothly and in a law-abiding manner. Much of Leviticus is laws and rules of behavior. Inbreeding weakens the society both genetically and socially, so it was banned.

In biblical days there werent as many people around and the land was closed off - Meaning people stayed in there country - the rearly went to other countries so there were fewer people to interact with - and very often people would be attracted to thier family members - so the bible makes it clear in detail - who you can not sleep with - and it was a big thing in those days that is why it is mentioned so much -

Because incest existed and still exists and at one time was not incest. Where do you think you get that morality? Judeao/Christian ethics made incest taboo. If we were godless, it would not be taboo. As a matter of fact, it was common in Egyptian society and completely accepted. So, thank Christians here in America that it is no longer acceptable.

i might recommend you to bypass away your sister on my own. Even Christians don't have faith that area of the Bible. i understand, the Bible is one hundred% actually actual, yet no longer that area. They make exceptions. they're even no longer loopy approximately father/daughter incest and that's no longer disallowed interior the Bible. (How's that for a slew of double negatives?)

apparently it was pretty rampant back then. there's this one time where paul writes a letter to a church and mentions his disgust with a mother and son in that church getting it on with each other. then there's the one where king david's son rapes his sister, and when lot's daughters got their father drunk and slept with him so that they could get pregnant. all creepy sh!t.

if you ever get the chance, read the book 'the x-rated bible'. it talks about all the weird and deranged sexual stuff that occurred in the bible. trust me, the incestual stuff is just the tip of the iceburg. (husbands pimping their wives, fathers offering their daughters up to be gang raped by entire villages so that their male guests would not be harmed, mass orgies, the entire book of songs of songs/solomon). and let's not even go there with the level of violence in the bible! really, there should be a 18+ warning on bible purchases.

Probably because incest was prominent during those times. It was not uncommon for brothers and sisters to end up becoming husband and wife back then.

Actually, it WASN'T accepted. It was considered an abomination.

Why does the Bible talk about it? Because it happened.
