Just wondering if some of you also wonder about this:

What is Light?
What is Darkness?
Is light good, and darkness bad?

What is Something?
What is Nothing?
Is something good, and nothing bad?

Thanks for your comments.

candy...yes, you're right too, but what about byond light/darkness and BEYOND good/bad?
There's no perception there, it's BEYOND even perception, yet we can think about it or, at least, imagine it.

light and darkness are just results of our perceptions.

light is not always "something"
dark is not always "nothing"

they exist in the absence of each other. but their absence is the most important criteria for their existence. that is why they have their own importance.

when you have nothing, you always have a "hope" to have something someday,
when you have something there is always a "fear" that you will lose it to eventually have nothing.

so in this way ....
is something good?
is nothing bad?

depends upon how you look at them, how you understand them.

Light and darkness have no moral qualities. Dark is associated with evil because many crimes take place at night, when there is supposedly less chance of being discovered. People with simpler minds have a lot of superstitions about the night, too, like vampires and werewolves, incubi and succubi.
Nothingness--is it possible? We don't know if beyond the edges of the universe there is a total emptiness. When we say we have nothing, we usually mean we have no money, but we still have our bodies and our senses. Since nothingness is inconceivable, you can't assign it a positive or negative value.

Other than a metaphorical use? Good = White, Bad = Dark/Black, or, White and Black, Right and Wrong etc...)

Light actually exists; darkness is merely the absence of light.

A something (an entity) exists, you cannot claim that an 'absence' has an equal metaphysical significance as a presence.

I'm not sure how to explain what light/darkness and something/nothing is, but I do know that both light and darkness is good, since we need and benefit from both. It's just that light has come to symbolize good and darkness to bad, but they are both equally good for us. And about something/nothing, which is good or bad: something can be anything, good or bad, and nothing is just that- nothing, so it is neither good or bad, it is actually NOTHING.

It's a matter of personal perception. I'm definitely a light and something type of person, however. The glass is always half full.

It's all about balance. We need a certain amount of light AND a certain amount of darkness in order to keep that balance. As for "something vs. nothing", sometimes nothing is something and something is nothing.... You dig? :-)

conversing pretty much potential conversing of technology and physics - 2 issues Christianity seems to forget approximately approximately. pretty much conversing, there's no magic or greater being in charge for the two; gentle or dark. lower back, we are pretty much conversing. it is like asserting gods are in charge for fall and spring.
