Not every 'holy' book is holy and you have to decide for yourself what is right and what isn't. The thing is this if I as a christian choose to give my life to Christ and believe in Him, of what importance is it to you. If you choose not to believe in God that is your problem (I think you would be foolish but its your choice to be). Nowadays many write or preach that there is no God and that humanity can be explained through the big bang etc. Thing is they don't tell you that there position is based on theories they cannot prove anything - for example if man evolved from monkeys how come monkeys still exist but no longer 'evolve' into man? How come man and monkey exist side by side with man birthing man and monkey birthing monkey.
The bible is the inspired word of God and we can see the predictions concerning the end times when Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead, coming to pass in our life time. We each have a choice to make and it is down to individuals.
God is an experience and until you experience him for yourself you will not understand. To experience him all you need to do is try Jesus - give your life to Him and let Him order your steps, your life, your world - taste and see that the Lord is good.
Jesus is coming back and you need to be saved (born again) to spend eternity with Him. Do it now for tomorrow may be too late.

My book is the Qur'an and I believe it hasn't been changed since it was written down during Muhammad's (SAW) lifetime.
I have the Arabic and the English right next to each and can match the interpretation with a dictionary. Allah (SWT) says it will be protected, and it has. Plus, there are too many Muslims who know by heart some, if not all, of the Qur'an.
For example, you could read any 7 verses of the Bible in Arabic, but you would never be able to convince a Muslim who knows Suratul Fatiha that what you're reading/reciting is Suratul Fatiha.

In my own experience, I didn't even understand the Bible, in fact I'd hardly read it. I wasn't raised in a faith, my parents both turned away from their strict christian upbringing and brought their free thinking ways into my life. I rejected Jesus many times, even from the man I married, who fell away from the church on account of me (among other reasons.)
Then one day I had a personal experience of Jesus, got baptised in the holy spirit, healed of depression, and felt the presence of God. It became clear in a matter of seconds that God had always been there, always been true, and would make everything all right. I became a christian of course, and then the hard work began, trying to make sense of the Bible. I studied a lot, including different faiths, and struggled with some of the doctrine which went against things I was brought up to believe. But the fact of Jesus being alive was my basis for making a decision to put my trust in the one who had proved trustworthy, and I can honestly say God has never let me down. I may not like some of the things that happen in the bible but because I know God and know He loves everyone and can see the bigger picture, like a playwright who knows that the struggles of the performer will soon be over, I trust in Him.

The Quran is still in the same language that it was revealed in, Arabic. We still have some copies that are over 1300 years old, the Quran can be recreated by the exegeses that was made on it, even it is lost. People can memorise very easily it is over 600 pages long. It talks about the how the wind carries effect rain, two seas having a barrier.

Faith was the place I started.
Obviously there are times when faith can waiver, and I am not a person who can work with something without asking a few "whys?" anyway. So I read other books that have studied the other historical sources about the life of Jesus. I was really interested when I read that Jews, Muslims, Athiests and even scientists have written at length about events in the Bible and their historical viability.
I recommend an author called Adrian Holloway, who wrote two very accessable books, primarily for teens, called Shock Of Your Life and Aftershock. Aftershock in particular was well worth the day or so of reading time and I learned a huge amount from it.

I believe in a holy book (not saying which one) & the reason's I believe it's the word from God is because he sent appointed people who were rightous enough called prophets & he gave them certain powers, abblities for them to preform miracules & let them speak to the un-seen angels. The reason for this is to warn people of life after death & about they're judgement as when you die it will be to late to repent. But there are no more prophets anyone that claims they are now are false. Keep up the intrest in religion & your questioning of this short life!.

Because they talk of logic and reasoning, the prophecies foretold are proved to be true at appinted time and provide the most prudent course of action in life. When revealed all the books are truth nothing but truth but with the passage of time they suffer human intrusion and are replaced by a new one.At last the holy Quran was revealed and God undertook to save it because it was destined to be last and complete code of practice for all times to come.

When I read it, I find no way it is a mankind thought not Muhammad (s.a.w.) anyway. I am a muslim. Our Prophet was illiterate, I cant imagine how he could teach and say all what it was described in Qur'an, even some years ago I found that the description of black hole is written in Qur'an exactly as it shown in the picture. I doubt that he knew at the time he lived, he did not have the equipment to look at the cosmos.
I think, you have to read it yourself, what it is said in it ( Qur'an), it is not a chronological story of his (Muhammad s.a.w) life . It is way much greater than a story.
I am not going to say too much, it is pointless, I cant describe it as well as it should be.
I read Teaching of Budha, I read Bible, I read Teaching of Lao Tze and I read Qur'an. I am a muslim by choice not by force. I grew up in a Catholic environment, I became Protestant's navigator, then I accept Islam as my way of life after I read Qur'an and understand the meaning of Islam.

No one ever could prove the Quran wrong - in uran, its also mentioned that Bible was first version of it, later Allah himself replaced the Bible with the Quraan.....and, while Quraan came, our Prophet (may Be Peace Upon Him) was illeterate...so, there is no chance for him to write it; in that time, poetry was very famous at Arabia....when Quraan came, all the poet was surprised seeing the combination of words and sentences in it....they had to confess that, its unique.....and, its challenged in our Quraan, that if u can write a line like this at least.....
so, it's has been proven!

the buddha says "do not trust every word i say but think what is right and what is wrong after analysing my words carefully".
for me, it is "do not trust in every words in the holy book if you sense something is wrong with the words".
reading any type of holy book or any normal book needs an open mind and open heart from the view of the world.
and importantly, do not trust in any person's words no matter who but think what is right and what is wrong before you agree or disagree with him or her.
