Im getting married soon. I want to get my hubbys ring engraved before the big day. I want something different, romantic, and meaningful to go on it. Any ideas?

These are all great - some sweet, others amusing! Here are a two I have heard:
"I Promise" - love this one- simple but love it!
"Put it back on!" -amusing but not going to use this!

Lady E: That made me cry! That is a lovely story. It makes you realise how precious a relationship is - even with its ups and downs xx

Many couples have silly little things that are theirs alone. It could be a word or phrase, a special place, or anything that defines their time together.
At the end of a phone call with my then, soon to be husband I would sign off by saying, "I love you."
Ever the romantic, he would respond with, "Me too."
To which I would question, "You love yourself????"
Then he would always say, "No, you. I love you."
I know it was cheesy but it was just our moment of silliness. It was our own "little thing."
Before the wedding, I secretly took his ring and had it engraved with our wedding date and the title of a poem that summed up my feelings for him. I never expected him to do anything with mine; it just wasn't his style to think of things like that, so it never occurred to me to look inside. Many years later, we were beyond the repartee, the kids were grown and we became bored with each other. So many years had belonged to family we forgot to keep time for ourselves to be husband and wife. I began doing something I had never done in all our married years. I started to not wear my rings. At first I was just sleeping without them, then, if I had a cleaning or gardening day planned, I wouldn't put them on for the whole day. Then I just didn't put them on at all. They sat for days unnoticed in the dish on my nightstand. One morning, the light must have been just right; when I woke I was facing the dish and noticed it for the first time. The print was very tiny next to the platinum symbols. If I ever saw it before I must have thought it was part of the manufacturers seal. There inside were two little words, "No, YOU!"
I'm not going to say that everything turned to bliss after that morning, but it did change things. I called my husband later that day to find out about dinner plans and before hanging up, I said, "Love you."
And like it was 20 years earlier, he said, "Me too."
"Love yourself???” I asked.
"No, still just you."
So if you're looking for something for your ring inscription, I would suggest something that would always remind you about the couple you dreamed of being when you first put them on.

You could engrave a word or a nickname that only means something between the two of you. Some people use quotes that they like from a movie:
For example: "You had me at Hello" from Jerry Maguire
You could also use a lyric from a song that you and your spouse like and share.
The wedding date is a good idea, both names, your name, you could even put the day you got engaged or even the date of your first date. Maybe put your initials with the wedding date and forever and always.
Did you ever see that movie "The Other Sister?" If you did, there was a part in it where the handicapped daughter married her handicapped boyfriend and mouthed Olive Juice to her mother which looks like she is saying I Love You! Even something funny like that can be engraved.
Good luck and Congratulations!

My husband's ring has " I do December 9, 2006" as a friendly reminder for the rest of his life exactly what day I expect to have gifts :-)

When I get married, I'm going to put "j'adore" on my bf's wedding ring. I also love your suggestion of "I promise" - it's simple, to the point, and very meaningful! Love it!

The shape of a ring is obviously a circle symbolizing eternity. I suggest you engrave "Eternally yours," with the wedding date as well.
Good luck and congratulations!!

Do you have a saying you use in private when you talk to each other. My daughter in law used the phrase "Bunches and Bunches" in my son's ring- they said it all the time to each other. The whole phrase was "I love you, bunches & bunches" My son put the title of their wedding song in hers "I only have eyes for you" Think about special moments and the right phrase will come to you.

You could get the word "love" engraved...you could do it latin, or hebrew if you're religious, or any other language. I don't know what kind of a person you are, but if you're in to tatoo's, you could always get the outline of your wedding band tatood on your finger, does that make sense?

You could put something that means something to you guys but to know one else. Eg...your nickname for him hunny bun or something like that. You could also put the past, present, and future...I would try to think of something that means something to you too that would make no sense to anyone else though as this will make it special. Kind of like a secret language that only the two of you understand.
