Im currently recieveing treament for a tramadol 50mg and codeine 30mg addiction and I was recently refused an alternative prescription to either methadone or subutex because my case worker said my urine only showed up as having a "theraputic" level of tramadol in my system and a small amount of codeine. Previous to the urine test I had taken 80 of each pills in the three days leading up and I know that at that level it is neither "small" or "theraputic"!!! Another drugs worker who I speak to, although not professionally, has told me that the amount cannot be detected, only what has been taken. It isn't safe for me to be taking 25-30 pills of each a day and so a substitute would be a more sensible, controlled way to deal with coming off the addiction I have been battling for 2 years now. If anyone can help I would be most grateful!!!

Opiates are rapidly metabolized by the body and just a little percent are eliminated in the urine. Thus, the amount of opiates you had taken cannot be detected in urine sample. The reason is that the test using a test strip merely depends on the change of strip color. A cutoff level of 300 ng/ml or higher, changes the color of the strip to indicate positive result. Follow your doctors advise.

depends on the expensiveness of the drug test. although opiods are tested for i think their main concern is opiates. if you are taking them for legitimate reasons you have nothing to worry about. if not, you probably have little to worry about either, as long as it really is low doses. you could try a urine test for yourself to see if it poses a problem there.

to be honest it depends on the testing they do and which company is used...when i drop my clients it is detectable at the place i have them go...all you have to do is tell them what you are on prior to the test and show the prescription from a doctor and you will be fine...
