Generally I only remember bits and pieces, but what I do remember is really abstract, bizarre or disturbing. Of late I haven't been sleeping well either, though I put this down to the fact that it's been hot and that the mattress I've been sleeping on hasn't been very comfortable. I’ve also been ill too.

As far as I can think I have nothing really to worry about either, I guess I have some stuff for my night class to finish and occasionally I worry my life is going nowhere, but these are silly passing thoughts. What else could be causing this? They’re certainly not just images that I've picked up unconsciously during the day.

My dreams are always weird...when I can remember them that is...I can count on one hand the number of nice dreams I've had and still have three fingers to spare...it seems to me it's a combination of the hot weather and your recent illness...it's disturbed your sleep pattern...it'll soon get back to normal,if it is the hot humid weather buy a pedestal fan,tip the fan down towards your bed and off you go to dreamland.

How long have they been happening. It's just that I sometimes find that before I come down with a cold or flu or something similar I tend to get really 'weird' dreams. Sometimes I get them for a few weeks before I come down with something and they don't stop until I feel better. It's really annoying and makes me feel as if I've been so busy in my sleep that I need to go back to bed. They aren't nightmares as such. Some are weird or disturbing. Some are relatively normal but I feel anxious or disturbed during the dream. Maybe it's just me. Do I need sectioning??????

Possible cause could be you are too hot while sleeping. It's been proven to promote dream activity. If you're interested in resolving the issue through therapy, try Jungian Therapy. Jungian Therapy has it's focus very much on the unconscious mind. Good luck.

Abstract dreams are not uncommen, when we are in dream state the brain tries to make sense of all the information you have collected during the course of the day and filters out all the stuff that isnt needed.
I wouldnt worry at all about these kind of dreams unless they start to portray images of a violent or worrying nature.

Sleep with a pedestal fan directing air over your body, and wear short cotton pajamas. See insomnia at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 3. There is a dreams section now in the social science section here.

Maybe you are passing through a difficult time. And you can not disconect from your problems even during nights.
Or you are very troubled and your sub-concious works in your dreams.
Try to relax and try to be calm and confident and this will disappear.
Also a full stomach can give nightmairs.

What I can make out is your room is not vey ventilated so have a window open or plug in a fan and you'll have to change the mattress. Also dont drink spirits to overcome your studies.

It sounds like you are having anxiety dreams, I have them a lot too and believe me if I described out the things that I see in mine it would truly challenge the word normal cos it aint lol. Best thing to do is things like yoga, general exercise and taking long walks to clear your mind works for me

I just had 2 surgery's and the pain meds, even though I take them as little as possible, have changed my dreams into weird life like dramas. Some external stimuli has effected your subconscious.
