which lowlights would suit my bobbed hair?

i have a bob hairstyle which is slightly shorter at the back. i want to put bright purple lowlights in it, but i'm not sure whether to go for underneath, streaks or simply the ends, or maybe even something else! does anyone have any ideas? my hair is fairly thick and brown.
