I would skip the gym today, but, head on back over there tomorrow. Try soaking in a hot tub and rubbing aspercream on yourself. That should help. It ll get better after a few times of going. Don't give up. Good Luck

Take a break today from the gym. Your body is screaming give me a break. You're going to have to go back and take it much slowly consult one of the trainers and get help on how to do the exercises without killing yourself.
for now Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.
Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles. Advil soft gel capsules work very quickly to help with the pain. Take them four times a day.
Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.
I suggest that adults and children drink 40 ounces of water per 100 pounds of body weight every day. Realize that exercise, ambient temperature, and state of health affect the water needs of your body. One tip for athletes: it is healthier to drink a sports drink or water than fruit juice, soda, coffee, or milk during competition or active training periods.
500mg of calcium and magnesium, taken twice daily, can help with diminishing the pain.

haha oh dear, yes, I have done that before, I feel your pain. No, I wouldn't go to the gym today. Until you are better conditioned maybe just go to the gym twice per week and walk the rest of the days. Also maybe not so intense on your routine. Low intensity then work your way up.
Ibuprofen, cold shower and time....you could even try and warm bath; but then keep adding cold water, colder and colder, to reduce swelling. Good luck. Drink lots of water.

Next time you go to the gym ask a trainer to go through various stretches with you, if you don't stretch your body will be stiff. It also helps to have a bath after you have finished at the gym because it relaxs your muscles. Also don't overdo it!
you don't even need to go to the gym---

You may have overdone it, but the soreness will go away. It's like the first week of football which incidentally is called hell week. It's all about conditioning the athlete for season competition. If you have access to a hot tub (sauna) definitely use it! If you keep working out after this you probably will not be sore like this again. Once you get up walk, stretch get the build up of folic acid to release from your muscles. I also recommend icy hot to rub on all your aches and pains from working out.

Before doing any exercise at a gym, you must warm up and warm down. Also you should learn to do your stretches before and after your gym work-out. Oh I think you should give the gym a rest for now until your abit better.Keep up the good work. Cheers and good luck.

this is normal in a person that has never worked. when one starts to work out for the first time truly they need to take baby step and not do to much or you will shock your system and your mussels stiffen a little making it hard to stand move or so stay home till u get back to normal and then work out only a little bite every day. REMEMBER BABY STEPS
