You could try an audio course, listen to audiobooks in english, and watch english programs (not subtitled or dubbed in something else).
You will get a feel for how the language sounds, and will unconciously improve your spoken english.
Go on holiday to english speaking countries.
Place an ad in the paper "native english speaker wanted to language training"
Practice, practice and practice some more.

I'd have to agree with the idea of watching movies, but would add that you can usually find a movie script online, which might make the movie more accessible. You might try pausing after you hear a question, and think about how you might answer.

depending where you are from there may be tandem associations. when i moved to switzerland i didnt know much french, but when i found this tandem group which was run through a university it improved my french enormisly.. its worth a try!
