I will have a new kitchen fitted soon and wished to use granite instead of wall tiles to cover the walls. Do you think it's ok if i use a a different colour of a lighter shade so as to have some contrast or should i keep the same colour of the counter tops?? Its classic style and of oak. Was thinking of a green granite. What you think ???

Can you take a cabinet door with you to the show room to hold next to the granite? That would be the best way to tell if you really like the contrast.

Granite is so expensive, just be sure to pick out something you reallly like because you won't be able to easily change the color.

I would go with a different color. I would also go with ceramic or porcelain tiles rather than granite, simply because of the expense. Granite would be probably 50% more than the tiles, and there are so many different options in useing the ceramic or porcilain.

You do not have to choose the same color....just a coordinating color.
