Please don't take offense to this question. I want Christians to answer. What do you think about the subject Star and Joy's arguement on The View about "pleasing yourself" when you are celibate. Me and my boyfriend are TRYING to abstain. My boyfriend would die if he couldn't and I know he does. It's easy for a woman to say, but is this realistic to men? Is it sinful in your eyes?

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person, anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

I actually didn't know that conservative Christians were ALLOWED on The View. Kudos to the producers! :D

If you and your guy want to be abstinent, stick to your guns. It'll pay off in the long run. As for the issue of relief, here's how I look at it. There are those who for whatever reason are being denied the priviledge of being able to attract the opposite sex. Maybe God has some higher purpose for these people, who can tell? For a great deal of these people (I imagine), their situation is a deeply embarassing one, one which they aren't too proud of. If they seek forgiveness for their potentially foul acts, God wil lforgive you.
