ok so all the people above me are idiots! however what i'm about to suggest while it will work (please don't try it yourself because you will kill yourself or worse) you'll be hard press to find a doctor this side of the 1950s that will do this procedure. Electro shock therapy would work to "eradicate" unwanted memories such as an abusive childhood, post traumatic stress disorder (ptsd) ect. however with this procedure you most likely will be left learning how to retie your shoes and what your name is.

A safe approach is the drug propranolol. propranolol does not get rid of these memories but it rids you of the control that the feelings have over you. propranolol is used primarily for people with high blood pressure, however recent studies have found it working on people with ptsd (like soldiers coming back from iraq). the way it works for ptsd is that it controls how you release adrenaline and keeps the person from experiencing the physical symptoms associated with ptsd.

Then we will no longer be normal. Our definition of normal changes.

Normal means average and the average human has both postive and negative emotions. Robots will not have any emotions but are not humans.
