They try to compare the nature of a non-living thing(such as a watch or a plane), with that of a living thing(Human). Because the watch was created by man, then man also had a creator? How the heck is a watch like a human being?!!! In what ways?

Dear Pope Darwin,

The theory of the divine-watchmaker is just to say when you look at the complexity of a watch- it most certainly had a creator. When you look at the complexity of a human being- it suggests an intelligent creator or the alternative is to believe that random molecules came together and evolved into human beings...

That's the thought behind the argument. Hope that helps.

Kindly,

Nickster

I don't understand why they can use that logic and not always come up with man as the Creator. After all, every example they use to "prove" anything with specific complexity was created would also "prove" just as well it was a human who did the creating because in every example they give, it was a human that made the watch or whatever.

It's because, believers in their quest to save you, will go out of their minds trying get you to see.

The real question that one should ask is;

Why?

Jesus told the men and women of His day that they had to eat He flesh and drink His blood to have life. All but the twelve left Him that day. (it is a spiritual concept by the way)
If Jesus told the truth, as it is, and did not care how they percieved it; Why then do believers give a crap about those in our day who refuse to see?
I sure don't. If you don't believe what I know to be true, more power to you. That's your choice.

I prefer to say; It's the truth, as I know it. You don't agree? Well then, let's quit talking about stuff like that. Your human, I'm Christian. How can we agree? Impossible I tell you.
And unless God opens your eyes, I could analogize you to death and you still wouldn't believe.

I do know though, that analogy has opened someone's eyes and they saw the light of their salvation through it. It's a popular one, so it must get through to some.

Why does such a thing bother you so much?
It doesn't bother me that you think I am a stupid, ignorant and a brainwashed believer. Why does it bother you then that others attempt to justify their belief with a simple yet profound truth that you simply don't see because you refuse to?

It is called using an analogy. This is an attempt to explain something supernatural in terms of some sort of human activity, just to give an idea of what the supernatural is like. All such analogies break down at some point as you have demonstrated.

They use that as a general example. They don't literally mean that a watch is like a human. They simply mean that both things had creators.

Well, the closest I can see comparing a watch and a living person is :
They are both made of matter.
They both have moving parts.
When dropped from 1,000 feet, they break.
It takes someone with some form of training and a certain amount of skill to fix them when they break.
When dropped from 1,000 feet, they usually can't be fixed.
I think that is about it....

Man is not a creator,he can only re-create,he can not create something as beautiful as the ocean or a star filled sky

It goes back to the early days of cartoons. Cartoonists gave inanimate objects "human" characteristics, so some people transfer mans' willful behaviour onto inanimate objects when the object doesn't work as expected.

just a guess.

I think I understand the question. Watches, like humans, have hands, a face, and a ticker. Right?

Everything that was used to "make" the watch, was something from God's creation. You can only "make" something from what God has created. People cannot "create" anything. There is a joke that goes with that.
Here it is:
Satan told God that he could "create" anything God could create, so God said, "Ok," create a human being. So, Satan picked up some dust, and God said "Wait a minute, get your OWN dust!"

Moral of the story---ONLY GOD CAN CREATE. SATAN CAN ONLY USE GOD'S CREATION TO " make" something from it. Creating = making something from NOTHING!!!!!!
