King James Version, New International Version, Oxford Bible with Apocrypha, New Living Translation, New King James Version, An Interlinier Bible with KJV/NIV/Amplified/The Message(?) , Mormon King James Version, Chinese , and a Neuvo Testamento. I also carry around wherever I go a pocket NIV New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs.

Those are the actual Bibles that I can use, not including the software that has the Douay/ Riemes, The Great Bible, Young's Literal, etc.

Oh yeah, I forgot: The Way, Revised Standard Version, The Good News, and the Living Bible as well as the Roman Catholic Bible.

I own most English, Greek, Hebrew, German, Latin and French translations. I prefer to study in the original languages, but as far as English ... I am currently a fan of the ESV - English Standard Version. This is a modified word for word translation with dynamic equivalence taken into consideration. It has been accepted by most conservative evangelical and reformed Protestant denominations (of which I belong). I used to be a fan of the New American Standard Version, but it is a bit wooden in its strict translation. I would recommend the ESV to folks seeking an accurate, modern English version.

Hey tur b,

i read the New King James. (It's very similar to the NASB which is the translation that is closest to the original text- but it's also very poetic- and i really love the Psalms and wisdom books in the NKJV).

The NASB and NIV i'll sometimes use for Bible Study.

Will also read the: New Living Translation, Phillips, the Message, and The Living Bible.

Feel free to email if you need help picking a translation.

Kindly,

Nickster

New American Standard, It was translated from the original Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts of the Bible into the American Language in 1901, after all the old manuscripts had been found and we had a better grip on all the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek languages. I find it a better read all together.

OMG..don't you all see that having so many different versions of the Bible indicates a corrupt religion? Many authors, editors, revisors, etc. of the Bible only changed/deleted/added verses to appeal to Christians so they would remain faithful (in other words through lies) and to appeal to people who are interested in converting (the same way). Converting through lies and putting in what people WANT to hear is corrupt. For all we know, the all-loving peaceful Bible could have had some ugly verses that were dleted or replaced with more peaceful ones so that Christianity could not look like a culprit or evil religion in the future. CORRUPTION!

I've explained this too many times, and I have a great argument for this, but I'm tired of doing it so much so consider yourselves spared :)
