I think it's a wonderful idea! You'll never forget your anniversary date. It's my favorite holiday! No gifts, fireworks, parades! Have a red, white and blue theme.

Well, it can be pretty busy, but if it is going to be a small wedding, like family and a few friends, take opinions on where exactly it should happen. The minister or pastor shouldn't have a problem as long as it is during the day and not around celebration of July 4 time.
You can also have a fun reception by going some where with your wedding guests and watching the fireworks. It would be the perfect romantic setting.

Are you thinking of this July 4th or next year?? I think this year is a little late for planning purposes. If you do decide on July 4th wedding, just remember that a lot of your guests will probably decline - more than usual. The normal rate is about 20% decline while a holiday wedding makes that number go up to about 40-50% declining. Do what will make you happy! Also remember, though, that holiday weddings are going to cost a bit more b/c of the demand for some vendors and products.

Personally I don't think it's a good idea. My bf is in a wedding happening on a Canadian long-weekend this summer. They had many weekends this summer to choose from but wanted their anniversary to be over a long weekend so in the future they could take long-weekend to celebrate. Unfortunately, this has caused three out of 6 people in the wedding party to cancel previously made travel plans for the long-weekend. My bf and I were planning a trip overseas and because of work can only take 10 business days off - we now are losing 3 days over the long weekend because of when their wedding day is.

Anyway, IMO I think getting married on a holiday is a bad idea, but again that's just me. Your guests and wedding party will feel obligated and want to see you get married, but may have other long-standing plans that will need to be cancelled in order to do so. I don't mean to sound harsh but as the gf of a groom's man in this situation, please don't do unless you intend on eloping...

I don't think it would be too bad of an idea as it will give your out of town guest a chance to go somewhere...As it is a long weekend, it is only one day out of the weekend and people will still have other days to do things that they might have wanted. Also, people are always looking to party on the long weekends and what a better way then with a wedding.

You do what YOU and your fiance want to do! It is your special day! Our family always has a big BBQ and invite the neighborhood and have fireworks that evening; we have for years and to me, a wedding would be so much fun for something like this, just incorporate the wedding with a BBQ, have fun, enjoy the weather and your guests! You don't need to have a big elaborate reception, have a BBQ, try to find someone in charge of mixed music and go for it. You will be able to pull this off before the 4th . . . . enjoy! Congrats!

The only problem with this date is that so many people plan their vacations around this holiday and might not be in town for the event.
Besides, if you're not talking about 2008, you better hush asking questions and get busy! LOL
Best wishes for a spectacular weddng whenever you choose to have it!!

My husband, his father and mom, and sister are from eastern Europe and now they are all individuals. Why is it that illegals are continuously Hispanic? Why won't be in a position to you people do it the way each of something of the immigrants in this united states of america do it- the impressive way? Your husband would be deported being unlawful immigrant. unquestionably, an immigrant on a Visa who does against the regulation would be deported if caught doing drugs as an occasion. An immigrant who has a eco-friendly CARD and gets caught stealing as an occasion, would be deported. An immigrant from Iraq who has eco-friendly card say gets purely a DUI would desire to probably get deported as a results of fact united states of america of america and Iraq are not acquaintances at conflict. they are in a position to declare oooo DUI we hate Iraq bye bye. Very risky! there is not any longer something thoroughly secure for an immigrant different than AMERICAN CITIZENSHIP.

Probably not a good idea to have a wedding on a holiday. This is a heavy travel holiday so you can expect fewer people to show.

Are we talking 2008? If so, and you're having out-of-town guests, then I'd suggest July 5. July 4 will be a Friday so it would be a good travel day. Then you can say you got married the day after Independence Day.
