Hey, my cat has been acting sickly all day. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow, but I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas about what's going on. It's hard to explain but he just acts very tired and uncomfortable. Almost like he's in pain. He's sleeps a lot more than he usually does and just isn't interested in anything. I can barely even get him to purr. He squints a lot and is drooling clear spit around his mouth. Not a lot, but a little.

Hi

Is he an outside cat? Does he have his shots up to date? It could be something as a result of that.

He may have a urinary tract blockage also. Try to keep an eye on his movements and see if he is voiding, if he tries and there is little or none then he probably has crystals, which can be removed. They are sort of like kidney stones. Good thing you are taking him in to get checked...

Hope this gives you some insight and that your kitty is ok

Poor kitty! I'm glad he's seeing the vet tomorrow. Is he eating & drinking at all? Could he have gotten into something that he shouldn't have, like a houseplant or anything else that's potentially toxic? Good luck with him! Just noticed that someone suggested aspirin--Please don't do this as it could be very dangerous!

My cat went through the same thing....try givin the cat enough liquids and a tiny pinch of crushed asprin that should hold'em for the night....also keep him in a cool dry area...it could be a mild fever....check on him every 1hr make sure it nothing serious if it continues take him to a emergency vet hospital.

Be careful- because if they are drooling...or foaming at the mouth they could be experiencing a seizure. My cat did that and he was having seizure spells do to a poorly functioning liver shunt... I would take him to vet as quickly as possible
