you have to eat to lose weight - make sure you are getting enough calories in your diet - otherwise all you will lose is gona be water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism.
to get permanent results you have to make permanent changes in your lifestyle (diet and exercise)
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

I don't know how you lost the weight you did but I'm a firm believer in the low carb plans. Eating carbs make us hungry. More protein stays with you longer. Get your carbs from veggies and not starches and sugars. After struggling for most of my life for those 40 lbs, I finally got them off with low carb 4 years ago and now it's a way of life. I eat low carb everyday....it's strict at first but after a while you add other foods. Give it a try. Your metabolism may have slowed down from dieting and low carb will get it going again...small meals, more meals and lots of water.

Have you tried going to weight watchers? I only ask this because they make sure that your body gets what it needs each day (so that you arent super hungry) and it will help you with the weight loss. As well as give you on going support.
I've heard really good things about them and have seen some really great results on friends.

You have to be strong and discplined! Try drinking water when you feel the urge to eat. Remember you are changing a lifestyle and the only way to do that is with time and consistentcy. While you lifestyle was once to over eat you are now trying to change to eating only what you need.
