Did the occurences, upbringing, and experiences you had AS A CHILD create or mold who you are today?

It did.

What one is today, is either because one is following the inputs of childhood of one is rebelling against the inputs of childhood.

Either way, the childhood experiences lay a foundation of our present personality.

No. For awhile (till my mid teens) my upbringing and childhood experiences had some sort of grasp and influence on me ... some of which has carried over and still remains as part of me, but most of which has faded. Although, from the beginning of mid teens-age, experience and all sorts of walks of life which have humbled me graciously and roughly ... have molded and made me the person that I have become and still am today.

Partially, along with genetics, and our life experience between then and now.

Our basic personalities are formed by the ages of 5 or 6, but the defense mechanisms we employ throughout our lives to cope with complex emotions solidify during our adolescence, mostly as a byproduct of the socialization process we all go through in school, with cliques, friendships, relationships, etc.

This is why, as an adult, it is very difficult to change how we behave in response to stressful or emotional situations. Under sufficient duress, the mind instinctively regresses to the time when it first had to cope with the stressor at hand.

Witness a person's response to a police office when they are pulled over for something they know they shouldn't have done. At first they may sound rational, but if the officer pressures them, they often start to sound like a child caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Just look at Paris Hilton crying out for "Mommy" when she was handcuffed and led to prison. Classic regression! It's not unusual for wounded soldiers on the battlefield to call out for their mothers.

I know that the Holy Ghost has molded me into what He wanted me to become. A Child of God.

Biblically, YES.

Let's read Proverbs 20:11

"Even a child maketh himself known by his doings, Whether his work be pure, and whether it be right. "

That's why it's an obligation for a parent to train up his children while they're young 'cause the training that they will receive, they won't depart from them when they grow up.

Let's read Proverbs 22:6

"Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it. "

How to train a child?

Let's read Ephesians 6:4

"And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but nurture them in the chastening and admonition of the Lord. "

NURTURE THEM in the CHASTENING AND ADMONITION OF THE LORD.

Yes

We are the sum of our past experiences and the lessons we have learned from them. Childhood is our most impressionable time BECAUSE we don't have past experiences and lessons to draw upon to put what is happening into context.

No. They are only a piece of the larger puzzle that is me in my current form. All of my experiences are equally part of it, not just those of my childhood.

The "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" certainly applies here. What you live, makes you who you are - particularly dealing with the child-parent relationships. Remember that old poster which said to the effect of: when a child lives with _ he or she learns to be _ ? !!!
