They always say its random, but after about 13 consecutive searches, I am starting to wonder. Once, I didn't get searched and I was very happy. Now I am dreading going to the airport. They always delay me and never hold the plane if the search takes a long time. Seriously, I am a math professor. I always am pleasant to the employees and they just don't seem to care. I also think its odd that my checked baggage has never been searched.

You are fitting a profile. Change your payment patterns for purchasing your airline tickets. Change your appearance,. for example, if you have a beard get rid of it. Something in your appearance or on your computer record is alerting them.
If worse comes to worse you could always find a sympathetic agent and ask him whats up. Don't do this in the security area. There is usually someone that is set back about fifty feet from the gate, kind of a supervisor, be nice and apologetic and ask hims whats up that you get hit every time. You might be surprised how helpful they can be.

I had an old warrant on my record and they bugged me for years when I came through US customs. One night I started talking to the senior agent in Charge in Miami. They were waiting on a currency smuggling ring, Picking them up one at a time as they came into the states. When my warrant show up they grabbed me thinking I was part of that. I wasn't and the agent actually cleared my record for me. (I found out later)
So be personable and give it a shot.

It might be your name is on a list by accident or close to the spelling so if they know of the name you would be automatically pulled to the side everytime. Check your appearance as well. I'm not suggesting you are dressing badly but have you had the chance to look different ways and see if one is picked on more than another?

Also if you fly at certain times all the time they make think you are checking to see if its the same crew or security.

Just food for thought

I'm afraid you can't do a thing about the searches. Sorry! Homeland security has this as a mandate and I for one am happy they do!

I would not want you or, anyone aboard another suicidal plane trip! Until the terror ends, I am afraid that we will all continue a little inconvenience...for safety's sake.

I'd be happy to be searched - lets face it, I could be anyone carrying anything.

I suppose they have a profile that they look at more closely than others though and presumably you come into this somehow?? Difficult for you I understand.
