You have to try on shoes and see which ones fit the best. Be blind to brand names, they will not protect you from shock, give you motion control or stop blisters. A real running shoe store (not a big-box sports store) can get you fitted properly based on your running style and gait.
I have run in Asics, Adidas, New Balance, Brooks, Saucony, Nike and Reebok; I like them in that order. No shoe ever fit me so well as Asics, from the 101 to the Gel Kayano, but as I got older I needed more cushion. I had one pair of Nike Air Max that were good, but I found Nike's ran narrow and that didn't work for me.
Mizuno is also a good shoe to try.
Make sure you try better insoles; most shoes come with useless ones. If you are not a neutral foot runner, you may need some other things in there too. A running store will have it all.

I am not fit(am overweight) and I was suggested to use New Balance or Asics with special insoles. I'm currently using New balance 8515. I have not used Reebok or Nike at all, so I cannot tell which one is better. I think you might want to spread out your options a bit more. The choice is personal. You are the best judge. Go with what makes you happy!!, but try out a lot of shoes and see which one fits you the best. Commercials are always misleading. Runeasy can turn out be a nightmare if you dont pick up the correct running shoes.

joesombody777 is right - the fit is much more important than the maker - if you really want to get the best shoe for you, take a pair of shoes that you have worn for a while to a professional running shop - they will recommend the type of shoe you need to look for - whether you pronate or suppinate, and the type of stride you have will affect the type of shoe you need. As for Nike or Reebok, I haven't bought Reebok in several years, because I had durability issues with them, although I have heard that they have improved quite a bit in the last year. I've actually had the best luck with adidas - for fit and durability

I run a lot and when it comes to buying good shoes, it doesn't really matter what brand it is, as long as they fit well. I've gone through about 6 different brands and I haven't really noticed much of a difference. However, I tend to keep buying the Saucony brand. That's what I choose, but out of the choice between Nike and Reebok, I'd go for nike.

Don't get stuck on brand names, go to a running store and look at all of them. For me, Nike has always sucked. I've had a couple of pairs of Reeboks and they were OK. The best shoes for me have been Asics and Brooks. They're the only ones with gel built into the soles for shock absorption and that seems to work way better than anything else (for me, anyway). I've also had a couple of pairs of Adidas that weren't bad.

Neither Nike or Reebok is good for each and every individual specifically.Shoes for running or jogging are customised after a detail evaluation of the user's foot, body and muscle picture. This helps in achieving optimum forces required at the start of the run and walking also. You can customised any good pair of shoes at a good foot care centre. You may buy a good pair of shoes and get it customised . Contact orthecofoot@yahoo.co.in

Asics. Both reebok and nike also give me shin splints as I'm a road runner. It will depend on the style of running u want to do, where u run and the support your feet need. I suggest u go to a sports shop and get properly fitted. I went to an actual running shop who watched me run then fitted me. Good luck!

I have heard it all but usually the names that stick the most are New balance, Nike, and of course, Adidas. I have used Nike and Adidas both. There was nothing special about Adidas--just a good shoe. But Nike is what I use now and what I have been using for ages now. I use T3's to be exact.

Nike or Reebok: make sure it fits in the comfort zone of ur feet. as "only the wearer knows the pinch of the shoe".

Neither. Saucony is the brand to go!!

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. I have never gotten shin splints while running in Sauconys and they last 500+ miles. I have put two pairs in 500+ miles the last four years.
