i feel like there is a stabbing in 3 different places down my right shoulder..next to my shoulder blade, next to my neck, and on the joint.

Does anyone have an idea as to what this is and how to stop the pain?

well..I attempted some of the stretches, but it only made it worse...the pain is there even if i dont move it. I'm trying putting heat on it, i believe it may be a muscle knot...there is a bump in the location where there is none on the other side

I'm an Occupational Therapist and this sound like it could be what called a "rotator cuff tear." Best advice is certainly to see a doctor. Orthopedist or Neurologist is the best bet.

Hi! I am a massage therapist. Yes, you have trigger points or "knots" in those exact spots on your trapezius and rhomboid muscles.

Get a good, deep tissue type of massage. The best is myofascial release/trigger point therapy. Have a few sessions at least.

For now, you can stretch it out and massage it yourself. A really good stretch is standing with legs spread wide, take the opposite arm to the opposite calf or ankle and pull in. Its awesome. Also, some simple neck stretches (side to side, up/down) will help.

Feel better!

Go to the doctor. Shoulders are very tricky & its hard to tell just by talking what it is. I have a bad shoulder also & overthecounter stuff just doesn't do it. Your Doctor will sort this out believe me.
