Yes I do. Here are some of the charities I have donated to in the last year: Lukemia Lymphoma Society, Diabetes, Multiple Sclerosis, Homeward Bound, a local Community Theater, and I deposited money into an individual's bank account who had been seriously injured in a car/bicycle accident to help cover her medical costs. I also donate blood regularly, as well as make regular donations to food banks.

I am agnostic. I will donate to Christian based charities IF they don't discriminate in who they hire or serve, and aren't using the charity as simply a vehicle to convert people. Habitat for Humanity is one such organization. Even tho' they are a Christian charity, they serve everyone, and don't pressure anyone to convert. I haven't donated to them in a while, but I used to volunteer work with them, and donate to them. I absolutely will not give to charities that dangle food in front of hungry people and pressure them to convert. I unwittingly donated to one such charity, not knowing that there sole purpose was evangelising. I won't make that mistake again.

yes, i donate to a few charities. i donate to christian charities because i believe it's important for people to hear the word of God.
But there is no law that tells you what charitie you have to donate too. find a cause that you feel strongly for and support it. there are many good charities that help many people that aren't Christian.

Yes. They don't have to be Christian either. The charities I donate to are usually ones that hit close to home. A dear friend of mine had Breast Cancer and is now dead. Another friend has Leukemia so I donate to research for a cure for that. My father is dying of prostate cancer so I donate towards that. Both my father and I have Diabetes so I donate towards that and now my best friend that I've had for 17 years just found out a month ago that she has MS. Like I said anything that is close to me, but occasionally I do donate otherwise.

I'm also rather poor, but donating at least $1 does help and accumulates to the better good.

Yes, I donate to charities. However, I am very careful to choose the one with the lowest administration percentage (% of your contribution that goes towards paying the staff of the charity rather than providing the assistance to the intended).

I tend to find that most christian charities have high administration percentages.

Yes; I donate to several charities ! I'm a Christian and I support my church (maintenance & monthly bills) . I also, support some non-Christian charities too. I personally donate my time to serve in charitible causes or services. Remember; you can only donate $ or time AS YOU ARE ABLE.

yes I do donate, and definitely not only to christian charities. there are a lot of awesome charities out there that are not associated with any one religion. Help who or what is in the most need, not who worships a certain god.

Dear 7 of 1,111,

Yes i do donate to charities. Many of them are Christian but not necessarily all of them.

1) World Vision- to help starving kids in 3rd world countries, receive food and an education. We also sponsor a 30 hour famine at our church to raise funds and hunger awareness among our youth.

2) IJM- International justice mission- They fight to free teens who have been sexually exploited (sold by their family into prostitution) they resuce them from the brothel's and feed and clothe them and teach them about God.

3) AIDS foundation: i have friends who have had loved ones die of AIDS and my friend does a marathon every year.

4) Firemen's fund/Police Charity: i think that our these people do a lot to protect people- and they should be supported.

5) Toys for Tots: Always good to help kids.

etc, etc, etc.

This past week i asked my Sunday school students to take $5 and do something to change someone's life with it... can't wait to hear their reports- i spent part of my $5 just giving it out and chatting to homeless people.

Kindly,

Nickster

I donate to my church on a regular basis which sends it to charities of good report - almost half gets handed over to the Catholic Charities because of its excellent reputation.

When I see people in need on the streets or in the malls, I take them to the food court and pay for their meal, but I don't hand cash to complete strangers - too many dishonest pan-handlers.
