Mark 11
12And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:

13And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.

14And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Matthew 21:19 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.

Like, hey guys, he curses a tree for not bearing fruit out of season.
Jesus was a freaking lunatic!

The question is simple. It is an easy If Y then why X question. The scripyure qwuotes are just so the religious can not deny it like they normally do.

Why they put the keys so tight together is beyond my understanding.
quotes not qwuotes and so on.
Sorry about the typos

Para K.
It was a living thing killed for no good reason. It may have been just a tree to you,
but it likely had small sprouts around.

And curiously it is meant to be a damning value against Jews.... extremely, it says much extra approximately Christianity's genuine relationship with Judaism. Making up unusual memories and looking out forward to an somewhat distinctive faith to be something that it is not is as daft as cursing a fig tree for doing precisely what that is meant to be doing. perhaps some day they are going to comprehend that that is unfavourable and impolite to teach yet another faith into the villain of their own.

He cursed it for two reasons, he was the creator of the earth and everything in it. He created that tree for man to eat of its fruit and it did not grow fruit as he commanded it to do, for he was hungry, on his command it should have been full of fruit even out of season. The second reason he cursed the tree was to show his disciples that he had the power not only over life but over death. He had brought many things to life and done much healing but this is the only scripture that shows he also had the power to destroy,or kill.

On the surface yes it may look like Jesus was out of His mind. However, the story of the fig tree holds within itself huge spiritual significance.

It was just to make an analogy.....the body of Christ, the church, needs to be bearing fruit so as to be pleasing in God's sight.

If what "X" (the answerer) says is right, then God has the right to do anything, including screwing around with people's lives. And wouldn't that make him another cosmic Saddam Hussein.

But I wouldn't agree that he's a lunatic. Maybe a kid, who throws tantrums. Like how he upset everyone in the temple by overturning tables.

And remember, Jesus and God is not only love, but also anger, jealousy, and wrath :). Hope that answers your question.

I agree, but never fear! Some will come and say why, and how he's not crazy. Or no one will say anthing. Or... some christians will say some other scripture and circular logic to try to get you to forget this.

What did I say?

Not sure where the question is... but... its an interesting point... thanks for bringing it up. It does seem kind of out of character.

there is a reason to all He does. perhaps He was trying to teach you a lesson by cursing that tree. anyway, tree's can't get hurt by cursing can they.

Remember, God thinks on a different level that we do. He owns everything, and Jesus had the right to do WHATEVER He wanted. Go to www.gotquestions.org. Jesus saved your soul from eternal damnation--do not disrespect Him please.
