I went to 'Stocks For Tots' last Christmas in Mooresville, N.C., Juniors hometown. His fans were waiting at 4 AM for the 300 armbands to be handed out to meet Junior and some other drivers....Denny Hamlin, Shane Huffman , also Booty Barker etc.We almost froze to death, someone finally made a fire to warm us up. The event didn't happen until that night.
We were in line at night about 3 hours, in the cold, waiting to meet Junior. 300 happy fans. We were number 142 in line.
We met him, got his autograph, talked a bit , all was well. Denny was awesome.....met Bobby Allison, Ned Jarrett...it was awesome. The ppl behind us couldn't wait to meet Junior...........he got up and LEFT at number 146~~~he just didn't want to sign anymore. That's it. Who cared about the fans who had waited hours in the early morning to get the armbands that PROMISED a meeting with Dale Jr......or the same fans that waited over three hrs at night, standing in the freezing cold? He doesn't care about his fans.

Its really funny that ever since Dale Jr. went with HMS all these "horror" stories are going around about him. ANY other driver could act the very same way and nothing would ever be said. OH and BTW I live in Kentucky about 45 minutes from the track that Jr. owns here and I got an autograph and got to chat with him there. Nice Dude!!!

Your Junior story happened but the same can be said aboout several other drivers.
Tony Stewart,(one of my favorites) left a session after 1 hour stating he had prior engagement.
Jeff Gordon,Number counter got to 250 gave Gordon a note he Stood up waved and left.
Jimmie Johnson,Left after an hour because it was too hot in his tent.
Greg Biffle, left because he had no "hero or post cards" to sign.
Bobby Allison(who will sit for hours and sign) left because they put his autograph table beside a "hog barn" at a county fair.)
So bottom line Junior is not the only one.

maybe the deal for him to sign went bad. For Jr to sign 300 autos, would probably take about say 3 hours. That's signing and talking a bit to the fans. Dale Jr.s time for that is probably around $10,000.00. Maybe the promoter fell short. Our NASCAR store in Wyoming tried to get him last off season, and it would have cost the owner around 40,000.00 for 5 hours. Jr has so much things to do to promote sponsors and his personal life.
I waited for 12 1/2 hours one time to Get John Elway's Autograph, he had to go after he signed for the person in front of me. I understand the situation. But I also understand theirs. If Jr. could have, he would have stayed all day, but unfortunately, sounds like time was up.

Yet you posted this right after that meeting with Jr 6 months ago,
"Jeff Gordon~~for sure! I'm not against any driver but Harvick. I love JuneBug too, just met him the other night, very friendly, shook his hand, posed for pics. Now Tony Stewart is another matter. At an appearance he wouldn't even look up to have his pic taken after we stood 16 hrs in line".
Whats up with that ?

perhaps there was a reason for that that was set up ahead of time, these racers have so many events and things that I am surprised they get anything done...I know that as recently as Eldora, anyway, ppl like tony, matt kenseth, kasey khane, edwards, kenny wallace...were more than nice about signing whatever ppl wanted signed

Were you guaranteed an autograph? How long did he sign autographs? He can't sit there forever. Maybe he had other things to do. Sounds like you met and talked with several drivers. All was not lost.

maybe true, however nice play on words of an eminem song about waiting in the freezing cold.
Not that I am defening him for getting up and leaving, however how do you know what his real reason for leaving? Maybe he wasnt feeling well, you do not know.

Figures, another spoiled brat. People seem to confuse this guy's PR image that is shown on TV with the real person.
