The pet shop is where I got her from. They told me the breeder is in another state. And I have no idea about her history. etc. I think it's a normal cold cause the guy at the pet store said they are prone to getting them when they are in new surround (my home since. I got her yesterday) would it be that?

The husky is only two months old so I believe the next booster should be in 2-3 weeks?

Has she had all her shots? Are there any shots or boosters that you need to get for her? What other symptoms does she have? I'd take her to the vet ASAP if you're worried, could be many things, but a cold is not common. A puppy from a pet shop can pick up many viruses from the shop. Good luck!

I suggest that you read up on Siberian Huskies. Huskies have a lot of energy and will be very tired at the end of the day or after a lot of playing/walking/running.
As for her breathing hard, it all depends on the heat, whether or not they have been outside and their recent activities (they sometimes have faster breathing that normal, but as long as it's not prolonged, it should be all right.
With the breeder history, you are probably out of luck. Getting a pet from a pet store (unless it's a Humane Society sponsored event), normally the pets are from puppy mill breeders and the pets will have sometimes terrible and irreversible health problems.
Huskies love having a set pattern. You have to put the puppy on a schedule. The more that you go by the schedule the more secure the puppy will become (the puppy has to learn the new schedule by the alpha of the pack). You have to be alpha, not the new puppy.
To be on the save side, see the vet you would trust, (do not ask the pet shop to refer you to a vet). If the husky doesn't like the vet that you pick and doesn't want to go back in, trust the instincts of your husky. My husky hated my first vet, but loves the new one and will actually drag me in the door.

Get your dog to a vet as everybody told you to. No it is not common for your pup to have a cold. Puppies from pet shops usually come from puppy mills so there is no way that the petshop will give you any info. This doesn't make your puppy less valuable. If I were you I would not take my dog to any park until she has been completely immunized. These dog parks are like breeding grounds for viruses and worms. If you must take her somewhere hold her, don't even put her on the floor at the vet clinic. The vet clinic has hundreds of sick dog germs on the floor. I always follow this advice. Pleae get your pup to a vet ASAP. Good luck and keep us posted. PS the pet shop is full of it. The pup is not going to get sick by being in a new surrounding. He just is worried you will want your money back. Keep the pup and get her checked out. When it is all done and your pup is better I would take the vet bills to the pet shop and try to get some reimbursement from them. They sold you a sick puppy. I recommend that you keep the puppy with you and fight for some money back.

Sounds like you got a puppy from an unreputable breeder... The pet store probably got the dog from a breeder that runs a
"puppy mill." The conditions are horrible. Animals exposed to the elements, kept in tiny cages, no medical treatment, full of fleas and lice, malnourished, and females kept constantly pregnant. They are never nourished properly... only enough to keep them alive, and their puppies suffer the consequences.
Now, so do you. Take the puppy to the vet immediately and tell them where you bought it. You may be able to save the puppy, but they will never be a healthy, happy dog, if they are from a puppy mill. Go to the Humane Society website. They will tell you all about puppy mills, and the heartbreak of buying a puppy born at a puppy mill. Good luck.

Congratulations - you are the proud owner of a puppy mill puppy, who is likely very sick.
The guy at the pet store sold you a line about "a cold".
Call a vet (but not one that the pet store recommends) - you may still be able to help your dog. If you're lucky, it's something treatable that's not going to be too expensive.
THIS IS WHY YOU DO NOT BUY DOGS FROM THE PET STORE.
BTW, from http://www.canismajor.com/dog/pupvirus.html#Distp:
Distemper may be misdiagnosed in its early stages because it begins as an upper respiratory infection resembling a cold., including fever of 103-105 degrees (normal for a dog is 100-102.5), loss of appetite, listlessness, and a watery discharge from eyes and nose. But dogs do not get colds like people do, so if these symptoms arise with a puppy, call the veterinary clinic immediately.

the stores usually have a guaranteed pet check I would have her checked out jsut to be certain.
Do you have airconditioning? Make sure she has plenty of fresh cold water - try giving her ice chips (crust an ice cube well).
A park and lots of playing is tiring for any dog..but I would most definetly get her checked out cause it could even be kennel cough (which might be not showing as a cough yet) - if you google it, it'll come up.
--- EDIT ---
Can you take her temp? This sounds gross but stick a thermometer that you put into petro jelly and take her temp. If it's high (google about dog temps cause I don't remember) and then determine from that point on.

Most puppies that come from a pet shop are from puppy mills, and have health problems. Don't wait for her booster shots, take her to the vet. Sounds like she has a respiratory infection, which is common in pups from puppy mills. Best of luck, next time avoid pet shops and either adopt or buy from a private breeder.

Take her to the vet. Pet store puppies are not a good idea...they are exposed to other dogs, people, and different animals, and if her shots aren't up to date who knows what it could be. Better to get her checked out, and if something is really wrong with her, you can go back on to the pet store you bought her from. Next time get one from a reputable breeder, or a rescue!

I don't know where you live, but with high tempatures during summer, your pup could be having a slight case of heat stroke/exhaustion. Also depends on how long you played. Seems to me a young pup should be taking it easy in their early stages of developement. You have to be responsible for your puppy, sometimes they just dont know any better and play too hard. Also, its time to put dangerous things about 3 -4 off the ground. Please dont hesitate if your unsure of any advice no matter who gives it, the Vet is always the best answer. Hope all is well with your new puppy.

Sounds like your husky has kennel cough, it's a air borne virus. Most breeders vaccinate against kennel cough, but nothing is 100% effective. Stress can lower their immunity. Kennel cough isn't fatal or serious . Take your puppy to the vet. Antibotics for a few days , usually solves the problem.
