i don't see much Pitt Bull in that dong. I see a lot of lab or setter, but their looks will change a bit as they get older. if it turns out that there is some Pitt Bull in that puppy, the thing to keep in mind is that Pitts typically react to their environment, so if you are aggressive towards the dog and rough it up a lot,t he dog will be aggressive towards you.
Mixes are great dogs, you get the best of both worlds.
Good Luck

I'd say the white one looks far more like a Lab mix than a Pit mix. What is the dog's mother? That will help us to guess more accurately. The marking on the black and white one could come from a Pit Bull but they could also come from many other breeds. I really don't see any Pit traits (or Boxer traits for that matter) in her though she is still young. even if she does have Pit blood, she's an individual and if you raise her right, it's likely she'll grow into a nice pet.

Can you post a link to a large picture? It will be easier to tell. Lots of pit bulls look different because in general they are bred for conformation and not for show. Different lines and breeders mean dogs that have different looks. My 2 pit bulls look completely different from each other but both are likely full APBT (not sure since they're rescues). **EDIT: To Rogue... I agree, APBT's, AST's and SBT's all have breed standards as to appearance but with pit bulls traditionally more significance and importance has been placed on conformation. I think American Bullies have arisen out of BYB's trying to focus more on looks (and fad colors) than on conformation and as a result they've gotten more and more exaggerated-looking. It annoys me to no end when these people claim their hippo dogs are APBT's or AST's. I agree with you 100% and your answer was great! Go bullies!

well, if it were a pitt mix i'd still be happy, they can still be very loving dogs, but looking at that pic it does sortof look like a boxer mix. but looking at the nose its sortof tough because it does look similar to a boxers nose but a lot more like a pitt. so yea, i'd say pitt mix, but im not sure why the owner would try to cover that up.

^like said its hard to determine what breed it is if a puppy. However I think it has the look of a pit bull.
But since its a puppy its probably not since it'll go through many changes.
If still worries maybe you can print out the picture and take it to the pros. Like maybe a vet can determine a breed

It doesn't look anything like my APBT when she was a puppy. My Pit had a wider skull, shorter ears and slanted eyes. Of course she is pure bred. As others have said puppy's are like babies, they all look alike.
And I am wondering why you are saying that a Pit is not the right choice for you. You could not get a nicer more people friendly or kid friendly dog then a APBT.

It looks like a lab to me!
Why isn't a pit mix the right "breed" for you? Mixes are the best of anything - less likely to have genetic problems that pure bred dogs have. Mixes also tend not to have the "pure bred" look or traits that certain people tend to associate with a breed.

She does look a bit like a Pitt mix because boxer's noses are a bit more turned up. Best of luck!

At that age, all puppies look basically the same. It's almost impossible to tell. You should be able to ask the owner to see the parents if they bred them?
