If I agree, do I get 10 points?
You know what? Nevermind. Not worth it.

Well, it looks like I'm the only person here on your side. But not completely. I wouldn't say God considers "them" an abomination. He considers their sin an abomination. He loves everyone and died for everyone.
I think many of them believe in God, but don't want to give up their sin, so they find ways to rationalize it. There are also drunkards and gluttons in church, and even leading churches. But you are right, God does not call these sins abominations.
I think some of them get involved in church because they don't like being told they can't.
And I think some of them are there to carry out an agenda- to take the one area of society that has stood against them and do away with its message of truth. Unfortunately, just as it has on so many other issues, the church is letting it happen.
So the real question is not really why gays are desecrating the churches, but why churches don't stand on the truth of God's word. Seems we want to please man rather than God.
I'm sure my answer will be as unpopular as your question, so I'm prepared for the thumbs downs.

What an offensive, disgusting word - "abomination." I expect a humble Christian to use that word on, say ... a vampire or a pedophile or serial killer, not an innocent man or woman who is not hurting anyone but is simply loving another human being privately that SOME pompous a$$es disapprove of. Stop looking in other people's windows. That's called voyeurism and it's an abomination.

Not only gay people, everyone that does or wants something the way they want it goes on deaf ears. Abortion, you name it, anything that is wrong, is wrong for a reason.
Just sadly, people want to find some good in the bad things. And it upsets them when people and God say 'Nope it's wrong'!
If something comes too easy to a person, when making a decision about what is right or wrong. Then most times, it's not the right choice. It's the hard, painful descions that people struggle with to do the right thing, that is almost always the right thing to do

God calls a lot of things an abomination in the bible. Lying and eating swines flesh are just a couple of others you may want to look into before you pick out just one.

sir wayne:
My words of advice to you are these. Never attempt to change others - that's God's job. Never attempt to "judge" others - that is NOT God, the Father's job but Jesus Christ's ONLY (see: John, Chapter 5, verse 22). Christian bigotry IS a SIN !!! You can not create an "us & them" and justify this before Jesus Christ since He died for the whole world because His Father LOVES all humans.
