L. Ron Hubbard's novel Dianetics, Book 2, Chapter 5, Page 120 says, in part:

"The sexual pervert (and by this term Dianetics, to be brief, includes any and all forms of deviation in dynamic two such as homosexuality, lesbianism [sic], sexual sadism, etc., and all down the catalog of Ellis and Krafft-Ebing) is actually quite ill physically."

The term "dynamic two" within Dianetics normally refers to the human urge to procreate. Ellis and Krafft-Ebing were two early researchers into human sexuality.

In Science of Survival: Prediction of Human Behavior, Hubbard argues that homosexuals (and all sexual perverts) should be segregated from the rest of society and institutionalized to prevent their illness from spreading to the rest of the population.

In Page 89-90, he writes:

"Such people should be taken from the society as rapidly as possible and uniformly institutionalized; for here is the level of the contagion of immorality, and the destruction of ethics...No social order which desires to survive dares overlook its stratum 1.1's. No social order will survive which does not remove these people from its midst."

At the time of the writing of Science of Survival, Hubbard did offer his own auditing process that allegedly would cure homosexuals of their sickness as an alternative to concentration camps.

DEA
I'm a Scientologist and I have friends that are Gay in Scientology too.
http://www.myspace.com/foxtel_iq
I also found this nice article by a gay Scientologist.
http://www.liveandgrow.org/fab-scn.html
All this Scientology anti-gay controversy is pure myth and doesn't have any connection with reality.
The Ron quotes are from old Dianetics books not Scientology that were reflecting the ideas of the time. Some stuff that Ron wrote back then is no longer politically correct. And if he were alive today he would retract those statements. Scientology like all religions has evolved. I don't know why some people keep insisting on quoting stuff that is no longer aplicable.
The spirit of Scientology is let each person be: "granting beingness is the greatest ability there is".
There isn't and there has never been a single anti-gay Scientology incident.
So Ron stereotyped all gays in 1.1 in Dianetics. This was a mistake and it doesn't reflect the feelings of the church of Scientology or Scientologist.
For some reason some people want to slander Scientology and Scientologist. Like when they say that John or Tom are gay, when there has never been anything to sustain such an accusation.
Can you mention a single Scientology anti-gay incident? I don’t think so.
So what really we have here is a misconception, a myth or a stereo type. Like saying that all Muslins are terrorist or that all Jews are good with money.
Let’s stop this madness.

O'Reilly won't know a fact if it jumped up and bit him. If you want at least something a little closer to real news choose another program.

L R Hubbard invented Scientology:

In 1950 Hubbard published Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, introducing his "science of the mind," Dianetics. He classified homosexuality as an illness or sexual perversion, citing contemporary psychiatric and psychological textbooks to support his view:

"The sexual pervert (and by this term Dianetics, to be brief, includes any and all forms of deviation in Dynamic II [i.e. sexuality] such as homosexuality, lesbianism, sexual sadism, etc., and all down the catalog of Ellis and Krafft-Ebing) is actually quite ill physically."[6]

That was the prevailing view in the 50's.

Considering the book Dianetics is the "Bible" of Scientology and L Ron is the "Jesus" or prophet of Scientology draw your own conclusions as to what the true ideology of Scientology is towards Homosexuals. However since it is really all about money they have probably more recently set this on the back burner in favor of profits.

Opie has no subject with homosexuality, as to L Ron Hubbard, I have no concept different than Scientology isn't a faith this is a pretend cult dreamed up by utilising an unsuccessful 0.33 cost technology fiction author.

Well I have studied and practiced Scientology for over 36 years. This is my viewpoint.
The fact is that Scientology addresses man as a spiritual being. It demonstrates that you are your own immortal soul and that you have lived many lives prior to this one . Many confusions and aberrations in this life have their genus in prior lifetimes.
Since as a spiritual being you have no gender but you have lived many lives in bodies of both genders it's amazing to me that any of us are "straight" !

Having said that, sexual perversion and sexual promiscuity are contra survival activities for mankind in general. These activities are not exclusive to homosexuals and are equally common in heterosexuals.
But Scientology does not judge it merely helps improve
emotional tone and thereby survival activity for the individual in the various areas of his or her life. It handles unwanted conditions. If a person is happy with their sexual
preference then this would not be addressed.

Scientology is not a religion. It is a way of making money for the people in charge.

It is interesting that a scientologist has contradicted his god, LRH about homosexuality. It is interesting that LRH used psychology and psychiatric ideas in the writing of dianetics. How rich are the leaders of scientology?

They teach that it can be cured. That is a person can be helped out of being homosexual. That is the teaching of scientology.
