Would that be the same preacher who has an unhealthy interest in children, ridicules those who have more intelligence and education than him, teaches that women are second class citizens and must stay in the kitchen and bow to their man..?
Yep, he's got the answers you need, ..if you like to be told you'll live forever for a small fee..

Actually, it's about 4.5 billion years old. That's with a B. But I just happened upon a talking snake yesterday. He told me otherwise. He also told me to eat some apples - 6 servings a day. I believed him. What the hell have I done?!!!!
But seriously, isn't science the answer? The best available evidence?

Why? Both are wrong.
the Earth is about 4.5 billion years old. the universe over 13 billion years old.
I would want to get my science questions answered by scientists, not a preacher.

I'm a scienctist and a pastor.
I've seen the proof that the earth is something on the order of 6 to 10 thousand years old.

Neither one. Besides, most traditional believing creationists hold to the 4004 BC creation date, which puts the Earth's age at about 6000 years. Some will even stretch the Earth's age to 10,000 years.
The short answer is, there are as many theories on this as there are people.
