So I went running tonight around 9:45 and it was still around 90 degrees, if not a little warmer, and the heat was horrible. It felt like hot air was blowing on my face while I was running too.
I'm trying to not stop while I run and am trying to run about an hour, like I do in the winter time, but this is tough.
So how do you deal with the heat?
And yes, I do drink plenty of water, I'm trying to not run as fast as I do in the winter time, and I wear light clothing as well.

There's not a lot you can do other than slow down. Just stay aware of how you're feeling. If you stop sweating, start seeing spots, or if you start actually feeling chilly, stop. Those two things are signals that heat exhaustion is imminent, which is closely followed by a heat stroke. I've run in heat like you're talking about and had that happen. All you can do is stop and walk for a while until your body core cools down.
I usually flip my runs to early morning in the summer to avoid the heat. That's always the coolest part of the day, but even then, if you live in someplace like Phoenix or Vegas, it's going to be frigging hot this time of year.

It takes a couple of weeks for your body to adjust to seasonal changes. Trying to run in the early morning, when it is cooler, is a great way to beat the heat. Maybe run some mornings and evenings both, but reduce your mileage so that the total miles add up to what you had been running. If you have to run in the evening, find locations with lots of shade and grass, next to a body of water is always a lot cooler. Just make sure that it is a "safe" location when visibility isn't as good and not as many people are out. Generally slow down and let your body get use to the change, just don't force it.

Hi Ryan! I know, running in the heat stinks, but here are a few tips:
1. drink plenty of fluids, specially if you are running for more than 45 minutes
2. wear sunglasses or caps if you run during the day
3. follow the ¨wet shirt club¨ I know it sounds stupid but if you wet your shirt a little bit before running, you will fell cooler, trust me!
4. if you are running during the day, try to stay on a trail with plenty of shade like from buildings or trees
5. try running early in the mornings like about at 7:00 or 8:00 when everything is still a little bit fresher or late in the afternoon like at 7:00 or 8:00 when the sun is not so strong
6.finally, my last tip is if it´s way too hot try running inside in the trendmill or go to a gym because a lot of heat and exercise is not good for your body cuz it doesn´t allow your body to cool down properly, this has a bad effect on you like heat exhaustion.
well, I hope this helped,
stay strong

Sometimes I wet down a a hand towel and wear it around my neck. Or I run a route where I can go by my car a few times, and take a wet washrag out of a cooler and put it on my face to cool down my face.
I also try to run in the woods as much as possible, given that the trees make it so much cooler.
Good luck, and keep running!

If it's still that hot at night not much u can do. Your best option may be to run on a treadmill at the gym. I know it's not the same and can b expensive but it is air-conditioned. Or u could swim in the summer you'll still keep your fitness up.

I've always ran really early in the morning. Once it gets to be 8am or so it is just too hot. It takes a lot of discipline to be able to get up at 5am, but you can come back home and take a shower and just go back to bed. It may sound crazy, but it helps.

carry with you a spray bottle of water and squirt it on ya and the wind that you feel when running will feel like air conditioning. I use this system when I go out to the desert. it works great.
