I don't get it. Why do they have a burning flag? Why do they hate other people. Isn't the overall message of the bible about Love? I mean it's thou shalt not kill isn't it?

Not true Christians. How could they be with all they hate they have in their hearts. Many people say they are Christians but their lives and actions do not line up with the Bible.
There is more to being one than just saying you are. What the KKK needs is some serious prayer for their souls.

Just because someone says they are a Christian does not mean they are. Christ said you will know a tree by the fruit it bears.

When a group (I forget which group and I'm too tired to check it out) asked about the miracles they did, Christ told them they were condemned because they did not know him.

In other words, a person has to develop a relationship with Christ, discover and understand his will for them, and do it.

Hate is not Christ like, therefore, KKK are not really Christians.

It's a burning cross that excites the Klan rather than a flag. Nowadays, in the wake of David Duke, the KKK is still among us but identifying themselves as this-or-that "Christian" organization, decidedly fundamentalist. Racial hatred, anti-Semitic, anti-gay, often anti-Catholic, wives pregnant and in the kitchen where they belong, anti-evolution, anti-stem cell research, anti-liberal, anti-education, anti-human rights, anti-press freedom, pro-gun, pro-death penalty, and, alas to this southerner, usually made up of southern losers who think it's perfectly okay to beat the little woman, your wife, and send the kid up the road to a convenience store for a six-pack of cold Bud, praise the Lord.

Unfortunately these misguided souls are at the least raciast pigs andd at the very extreme end Barbarians . These sort of groups are extreme on every level they take Bad out of good and twist it around to suit their beliefs as with all klans and sects they prey on vunerable people that have a like minded moral background.Leave it up to the good man upstais to deal with these terrible individuals.

Yes, they are Christians who have twisted the meaning of a group of passages to use as reasoning for killing/lynching all non-white and non-Christians in the U.S. They considered it a 're-purifying' of the American way because African American people had gained rights that the KKK felt they were not entitled to.

Edit:
I'm surprised I've received some negative thumbs, considering that it is history were talking about here. It doesn't matter what one's interpretation of Christianity is, if they believe in Jesus then they're Christians. The KKK members believed in Jesus, SO THEY WERE CHRISTIAN.

Goodness, haven't you people taking basic high school history classes?

I'm sure they truly believe in God, but their Christian reasonings are twisted to fit their personal practices. I think ANY group that promotes hatred against others and uses religion as their foundation is hiding behind said "foundation" to justify their beliefs. The KKK, the Westboro Baptist Church members (Phelps), extremist Muslim groups, etc. I feel these hostile groups hide behind religion. NO religion promotes hatred. It's not God that turns people away, it's people that twist the faith to benefit themselves. Whew. I'm done. ;p

It's not that difficult to use the Bible to justify hate, especially if all you read is the Pentateuch and the histories. The Klan consider themselves Christians; indeed, it's a membership requirement to be a Protestant Christian.

No I don't think they are christians. They are prejudice against other races especially African-Americans. People should not be judged because of the color of their skin nor should they fear tactics used on them. Everyone should be accepted because of what is in their heart not race. God teaches us that we are suppose to love our fellow human beings as much as we love ourselves.

The KKK is NOT a Christian organization. It is a white supremacist group fuelled on bigotry & hate, misusing & twisting the Bible to justify its existence. "By their fruits, you will know them."
