I am interested in going into the health field. I am a 16 year old teenager and i find it very interesting. Is nursing a good job? If i were to go to school and get the highest thing you can get for a nurse are they good paying jobs, thanks.

Nursing is a great career. It pays well, even with an associates degree, and there is no lack of jobs. No matter where you live you will not be unemployed. In a hospital you have.. ER, surgery, medical surgical floor, labor and delivery, Intensive care etc.,also there are jobs as nurses in schools, health departments, doctors offices, with home health and hospice just to name a few. Good luck if you choose nursing as a career.

I am a physician and from my perspective the nurses make everything go. To go into a career in the health professions (e.g. nursing, social work, physiotherapy, occupational therapy) is very rewarding in terms of the rich interactions that you have with real people each day, and the ability that you have to make a difference in people's lives every moment you're there. Depending on what area you choose to practice in, it can also be very intellectually rewarding as well.
At the same time, nursing can be a very challenging job - as mentioned above, so-called "colleagues" can be disrespectful, and patients can often be very difficult to work with, especially when they are confused and angry. The good news is that there's no shortage of work - you can get a decent job almost anywhere you go provided that you work in the hospital setting, and the pay generally should allow you to lead a comfortable life.
I hope that this helps.

Nurses make a very good living, but we work our asses off for it and its not an easy job. Physicians can be rude and condiscending. You have to deal with people who have all kinds of crazy idea's and sometimes just dont get it.
The really good money in nursing is travel nursing in hospitals.
You will never make anything working in a doctors office or in a nursing home.
Dont waste your time being an LPN. Go RN or dont go at all.

Nursing is a very rewarding career. there is no limit on how "high" you can go. It really depends on what kind of nursing you want to do. I was told by one of my nursing instructors "if you're in it for the money, you're in it for the wrong reason". I've been in the profession for twelve years and still learn something new everyday!
