Society is changing. People tend to learn from history. As we examine marriages, we find that many do not work, more often than not. Churches that are Christian based alone will not be able to stop this problem but working with people who have a desire to be couples is a first step somewhere. Eternal Damnation Worship will never suffice in a relationship, if the couple ever talks to one another. It will either build a barrier in as much as some deserved nature will be disagreed upon, or one of the couple will grow to realize that it is a farce and that will drive a wedge between them at that time if the other does not. Hate never works and Eternal Damnation Worship is the epitamy of hate!

The function of the Church is not to demand morals from their members. The Church's responsibility to is give a structure of morals and spirtuality to it's members. Thereby, the individual knows and is taught what morality should be. Once you are comfortable in choosing your Church (or religion) then the tithing you do will be for teaching others by either missionary costs, class costs, outreach costs, etc. Hope this helps.

Because they cannot demand anything of anybody, only preach the truth. I have never heard any preacher of the Gospel say that if you give money to the church, you are free to sin, though as a Christian, I do not always approve of the method some use to ask for donations. Some are shameful and bring disgrace to the House of God. He does not need anyone's money, as everything is His. It is a privilege to give to a good church or charity.

I don't think it's necessarily that these churches are money hungry. They say they do these things in the name of "evangelism". This comes from the Willow Creek-Saddleback, etc. adoption of a business model for church governance, etc.

I think it has more to do with the feminization of church (& I'm not talking about calling the Church Christ's Bride). This is thanks to the sexual revolution & secular humanist feminism. Generally speaking the Church has not held its ground against these anti-Biblical, anti-Christ ideas, but rather started to accept them. It's called "evangelical feminism".

This of course can be traced back to the Church compromising God's Word when the "higher critics" came along & Genesis 1-11 was attacked. Wherever, God's order of creation is attacked (marriage & man as Christ-like leader of household), these things inevitably follow.

how can a church make anyone do anything? Yes they would like their members to live according to the bible and it's instruction for us, but it is up to us to follow God's word. As far as money, how can anything in this world operate without money? Do you go to work and tell your boss...hey don't bother paying me this week, I don't want to seem money hungry. I would just love to serve you. I don't care if I get kicked out of my house and lose my car, as long as I am serving you. Doesn't make sense does it? Well, how do you think a church can operate and help those who need it if they have that kind of attitude?

They teach morals by teaching the Bible,, are they Teaching the Bible ??? And they should also be teaching tithing,, the first ten percent of your earnings should go to God,, Why ,, because God has made it possible for you to earn that,, Everything good that you have is from God..to be used to further His Church if they are noting using the money the way they should be then they have to answer to God for that.. And yes there are people out there that are running Churches just to get rich,, And they will have to pay for that when the time comes..

it has nothing at all to do with money. People are responsible for their own soul and morals. The church is there merely to bring the word of God to them. The church does have commandments but whether a person wants to go to heaven or hell is their choice.

Lately I have been thinking about the whole religion thing, and have a few questions of my own, Why is God testing us if he already knows the answer? If God wanted to save a select few of us from impending disaster, then why doesn't he snap his fingers and kill the ones he doesn't like? Why has he not been around in 2000 years? How can we keep believing in something that has not come around as often as he did?
I am not slamming religion, but things like this have me puzzled.

I know what you are saying!! Yes, there are many churches who are corrupt and who have strayed from God's word and it seems they are only there for selfish reasons. But there are Good churches out there....don't give up...keep looking. It took me 21 years to find a church that I could call home.

I think they have taken that piece of Scripture about letting the weeds grow up with the wheat the wrong way. You are not supposed to have obvious sinners within your flock but the Church's have a ton of them that do not repent and there is nothing said from the pulpit. It is disturbing. I think maybe in some cases there is not enough trust in God for finances so they do let some get away with it.
