cause i installed it and it works fine,, what is the difference? they look the same , and fit the same.. pls help someone thanks

You will be ok. No difference. It is just a old car please be careful driving such a car. In 20 years technology has advanced the 3.0 liter in your car now a 3.5 liter 160 hp vs 268 hp. Better driveability better gas mileage "no timing belt" and AIR BAGS save lifes...

The 1985-1988 Maximas are all the same series except for a few cosmetic changes on the '87-88 models. The engine and transmission combinations were the same also. You should be fine with this switch.

The two years should be compatible. If there aren't any issues yet then there shouldn't be any. I believe that 85 to 90 should be pretty much compatible.
