I found my great grans "paupers" burial plot, I asked the superintendent at the cemetery whether I could actually view the grave, they were brilliant. I made an appointment to see the plot, I was given instructions how to find grans grave, they were really easy to follow and as I got closer the superintendent had been and marked the plot out with chalk which I thought was really nice of him to do for me. When I asked about putting an headstone or a kerb on the grave. I was told that with a "paupers grave" or a "common grave" they are sometimes called the council owns the plot and always does, there were also two other people in the same plot, unrelated I might add. I am in England I only know the situation relating to UK "paupers burials"

I recently found out my great-grandmother was also buried in the papuer's section of the cemetery. The cemetery kept a list of the people who were buried there but not the exact location. So for instance, if you want to put up a headstone, you can, but odds are, you are not puttig it up over the right grave.

You could also try looking for an obituary for your grandmother in the local newspaper (through the local library) which might list these other relatives who you are looking for. With names, the search will become much easier.

Good luck,
Dave

I was born and raised in the Fort Worth area and although I no longer live there, I have gotten good leads concerning my ancestors by calling the Fort Worth Public Library and some of the older funeral homes in the area. Even if they couldn't provide details, they were able to point me in the right direction and I imagine the funeral homes would know about a pauper burial sites.

Not all Tarrant county cemeteries are on their genweb site. However I know of a couple places I can ask/call (am in the Dallas area) and might be able to come up with some leads for you.
Please drop me a private note via my profile (click on my nutty picture), including any names and dates that you know of. Will give it a good try. If mom is still living, that will help..
(since you do not have your email enabled, this is the only way I can reach you, to ask questions)

It might be on the cemetery list if a list was kept. I don't see how it will lead to finding other people though.
