I wish I had the answers for you. When my mother laid dying of cancer ,she felt no pain. She raised her hands, reaching toward Heaven ,the last two days. As I read the Bible in her room and prayed I felt a peace I have never know .People coming into her room said every time :The peace of God is in this place.
I do know that God loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son.
No one has ever died for me before, no one has ever risen and gone to make a home for me .Jesus is coming again, to gather the church.Satan is reaching out to kill the faith of many.
God has promised that He would shorten the days ,less when He come He find no faith left on the Earth.
Keep reading your Bible and believing.Jesus loves you so very much.
God keep you ever in His grace.<><

Paul the Apostle suffered re:" the thorn in his side" . whatever, this affliction was, Satan brought it upon him. Paul asked God to remove this affliction but He responded by stating to Paul, that "my grace is sufficient for you". Remember; this life is only temporary or transitory and what we suffer now, or in the present is not comparable to the eternal life in store for all of us. Had Adam or Eve not negated God's instructions, we all would of had a very easy life UNTIL someone else negated God's instructions. Suffering achieves a few things. Some of them are, we are driven closer to God when we undergo severe trials and testings. Trials have a very unique effect upon Christians. If a Christians feels God's love towards him or her when a trial occurs, he or she will be driven closer to God. Conversely; should a Christians NOT feel God's love in a trial, the trial will have the effect of driving him or her away from Him. This is why it is important to cultivate a deep and meaningful spiritual relationship with God, the Father, through Jesus Christ. The trying of our faith is much more precious than gold.

The Book of Job has the best answer to this question for me. Job was a good person that bad things happened to. In the end, God speaks to Job and opens with the following series of questions:
"Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Tell me if you understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!"
We cannot comprehend God. The Lord is too grand for us to understand. However all things are in God's design, and know that regardless of what you suffer here on earth, look to heaven for your solace.
However, I personally believe that in many cases the Lord uses adversity in our lives to test us and/or strengthen us.

For starter "non curable diseases" All things are possible with God and I'm living proof.
Sickness does not glorify God. I can post script if you'd like.
We don't have to suffer. Everything healing we need has already been given to us. It was nailed to the cross.
No one knows why God chooses to take people home early. It's hard to understand. But God gave us a comforter and I lean heavily on Him.

Actually, Jesus Christ bore your pain and suffering upon a cross so that you would not have to bear it. Nevertheless living in a fallen world, if we choose to follow in His footsteps, we are assured we will suffer on His behalf. This is considered by all the New Testament authors to be a privilege and an honor.
People suffer different things for different reasons.
Some suffer because of their own sins.
Some suffer because of their own ignorance.
Some suffer because of unbelief.
Some suffer at the hands of others.
Some suffer according to the will of God.
Some suffer for reasons known only to God.

Being a Christian does not mean that nothing bad will happen to you in this life. Even though we go through trials and tribulations, God is always with us. Last year several of my close family members passed away. It was very sad, but in the midst of it all, we could still see the goodness of God, and he strenghtened us all to accept their deaths. We were glad and thankful for the time that they shared with us on this earth. We were glad that finally their burdens were lifted and that now they are with God. We were joyous that one day we will all be together again, for the biggest reunion of family and friends ever.

I have lupus. It is incurable, painful, annoying, disruptive, ect... But I still love God and accept that He has chosen this for my life.
Lupus has taught me to lean on God for strength. It has taught me to prioritize. It has made me tougher. I have learned that joy can coexist with pain and fatigue.
I have been able help other people who struggle with pain and dissapointment because of my experience.
Yes, if it had a cure, I'd be first in line. But it doesn't. So I will be content and live my life to the fullest, leaning on my Savior every step of the way.

It's the sad reality that many Christians believe in Christ with hope of seeking redemption from the pains of human life.
Reflect on this verse: "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." - Romans 8:28

It is God's logic.
Let me explain, when one belongs to God, is a born again christian, saved, a saint, a child of God ... That person knows that this life is nothing, we are not afraid of death, even the apostles some times were anxious to go to the Father, but knew they had work to do here. This life is of little importance as it is temporary, transitory. It is just the time we are given to search the facts (truth), and make a choice for our eternity.
What it means for God's Glory when one is ill, sick, blind, that is also quite simple, Jesus explains that to the apostles, to let them know that God will allow some unfortunate things to happen or be on people so He can show His Glory and Power and that would help people to believe in Him. When Jesus was here, making all these miracles, so many people turned to Him (jews and gentils alike) and believed.
As I said this life is not the important one, this one is to prepare for the next, eternal one... We're packing our bags and getting our free ticket to heaven (with Jesus) ... or not, that your choice.
One must understand God to understand those things, I'm a 17 year born again christian and I'm still learning, and the Holy Spirit reveals things to me each day.
The question you asked, I asked this myself, it is genuine and God answered it spiritually.
Remember that the intelligence of men is nothing.
1Corinthians 1:23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks foolishness. 24 But to them, the called-out ones, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolish thing of God is wiser than men, and the weak thing of God is stronger than men.
Paul says:
1Co 2:3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear, and in much trembling. 4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, (meaning knowledge and logic) but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom (knowledge and logic) of men, but in the power of God.

God has his own reasons for all the things that occur on earth. No humans can fully understand his reasons, nor long range plans. God may also view a tragedy differently than us and see it as a loving situation so that that spirit can go on to do other noteworthy things. We just don't know why.
