OK, two kinds of bookmarks comes to mind. One type is similar to Favorite. A Bookmark or Favorite is just a page that you use often and want to save for easy access. Internet Explorer uses Favorites, Netscape refers to them as Bookmarks.

The second kind of bookmark is used in website structures. When you have a long list of information which ca be categorized in subjects, you would bookmark each subject. Then, if someone didn't want to look through the entire list trying to find one subject, they would click on the bookmark link at the top of the list and be taken directly to that subject. Hope any of this helps!

Bookmarks are the same as Favorites and Favorite Places.

A bookmark is a way to make a shortcut to a specific web page. When you find a web site (or page) that you want to return to on a regular basis, bookmark it. A shortcut to it will be created and you can click the bookmark to directly to the specified page without having to type a URL or navigate through links.

Bookmarks are like bookmarks for books. Basically, if you bookmark a page, the site's address is stored, and you can go back to it whenever you want. Let's say you come across an interesting site or a helpful site, so you might want to bookmark it for future reference.

I use Firefox, so if I come across a site that I think is useful, all I do is go to bookmarks--->Bookmark this page. When I need to go back to the site, all I go is click on bookmarks and then click on the page, and it will bring me back to that page.

For IE7, click on Favorites---->Add to Favorites.

my understanding of a bookmark is when you are on a website and it appears interesting to you, you want to bookmark it so that you can go back to it any time you feel like it. some times you find a site and you got there by accident and you really like that site then you would (BM) so that you can go back right away.
