'Depends on your age.
I started out wearing lipgloss and light colors of lipstick occassionally in my early preteen years. When I was twelve or thirteen, I used light colored eyeshadows. At fourteen, I bought some slightly brighter eyeshadows, blush and clear mascara. At almost fifteen, I have a lot of makeup but wear it every now and then. I don't use it everyday-especially my blush, which makes me get a small break out sometimes. So yes, make up can clog your pores. I think if you are younger than thirteen, you should wear lipgloss and stay away from makeup that goes on your face-such as foundation and blush, b/c it will make your face break out sometimes and if you put make up over acne it makes it worse and more noticeable.
Just talk to your mom and try to reason with her. See if you can start out small by going with lipgloss and then light colored eyeshadows and so on gradually.
If you are not allowed still, then don't worry. Enjoy being able having natural beauty!!
Good luck!

WELL, I CAN TELL YOU ARE TOO YOUNG, YOU DID NOT STATE YOUR AGE. HMmm! I suspect you are 11-12. That is too young. And yes, you can affect your skin for life.
Spend some time on the Internet and learn about our skins. The epidermis, and if you can find it, some affects of using makeup. (You use the puter for everything else, so why not?)
Most girls should have beautiful skin at your age and only be concerned about clearing blemishes. Not that you probably have that yet. BLEMISH FREE, CLEAN SKIN IS WHAT ATTRACTS BOYS. ONLY MAKEUP ATTRACTS GIRLS.
Ask the guys, would they rather have a girl with a lot of fake lashes, and caked looking skin or one that looks 'natural'. I dare you!
You don't realize this now, because you see the Magazines with MODELS MADE UP TO THE NINE'S, that is because they are MODELS AND ARE SELLING THE STUFF, girls want to MIMIC WHAT THEY SEE. Regardless of how awful they look. That is why you see 13 year olds with short tops and low riding pants and they have a 35" fat-hanging-over waist. IT IS THE STYLE THEY ARE AFTER, NOT WHAT LOOKS BEST ON THEM. It is disgusting to think that you want to dress like an idol, who is all of a size 3 and you are a 13 and think you look as good. BE REAL.
You will have all the rest of your life to GROW UP. For now, MOM KNOWS BEST! CHILL OUT!

Sorry sweetheart but if you have to convince your mom then you probably aren't old enough :(
And yes, make up can ruin your skin. Besides, a clean, clear face with tons on shiny tinted lipgloss is what's hot right now!!! Maybe you could sneak a little mascara but you shouldn't need much more than that.

If you honestly want to convince your mom to let you wear makeup, here is what you do:
you stop bugging her about it
you get good grades
you stay out of trouble
and when she sees you have been acting like such a mature young adult she will want to reward you with a privilege she will know that you have been wanting. no amount of arguing is going to get you your way, and in fact will only make you seem childish. So I wish you the best of luck.

How old are you? If your not in High School you don't have business wearing make up.
From your other posts you say you are 14. Old enough for lip gloss. And yes, make up can effect your skin. Not ruin it, but you could get MORE acne.

If you are at the store with her walk down the cosmetic aisle, point out some light colors, nothing "out there" and tell her that you think that would be a good color for you. If she see's that you are not going to go crazy and over do it or cake it on your face, that you can be responsible with it, she may give in. And yes a lot of make up does affect your complection.

actually, merely communicate on your mum. Ask her in case you could initiate with something sublte, perhaps a diminished pink gloss and a few organic brown eyeshadow? i think of distinctive mum situation approximately their daughters performing older then they are because of the fact then older men initiate flirting with them, thinking they are criminal and all that. this is a sticky subject yet once you attitude your mom in a mature way she would be able to even see which you will not pass over board on the makeup. as quickly as you get that first step executed and your mum can see which you be attentive to what you're doing you could slowly artwork in different diminished colours: somewhat brighter pinks or coral gloss, pastel pinks and vegetables for eyes. I vividly undergo in concepts the girls in my 8th grade classification oh maximum of years in the past looking like tramps and that i will comprehend why a discern could worry for his or her daughter's first steps into the international of makeup...merely shop it easy and undergo in concepts the tried and real word: much less is extra. whilst donning makeup you prefer to seem organic.

First of all, it depends on how old you are. My daughter is 13 and even though all of her friends are caking on the makeup she is choosing not too. She recognizes that she has natural beauty and doesn't need the hassle of wearing make-up. She does wear lip gloss.
You would be surprised how many of her friends run around looking like raccoons because they wear so much eyeliner and mascara.

If you want to show your mum that you are mature enough to wear make-up, then make sure you apply it sensibly and start with alittle bit and don't put on too much or you'll blow it. No it doesn't harm your skin, but I have heard of eye make-up doing harm to your eyes. Cheers and good luck.

Well you didn't state your age. I was 13 when I started to wear makeup. If you are younger than 13, then just wear lipgloss and maybe light shadows...nothing caky and fake looking...
