all i want is a 50" proj. hdtv, which is better a 1080p or 1080i, which one performs better of the different technologies such dlp etc. etc. anything specific i should look for? There are a few things i want like sound leveling, pc input, and a couple of minor things that i can figure out, whcih manufacturer is better, is there a good place to buy for cheap with good customer service etc.

but dont you have to replace plasma gas every 5 yrs or so at about 1000.00

No, you don't have to replace the plasma gas!!! You must have been reading the uninformed claptrap on this forum written by uninformed idiots.

For a 50" HDTV, dollar for dollar, your best bet is probably a Panasonic 50" plasma, especially if you can still find a 2006 model with HDMI. Going that big in an LCD gets expensive.

If you will take the time to read the following sites, you will have a much better understanding than you will have by reading every TV posting on Yahoo Answers. Good luck!

I don't know why you picked a 50" projection TV. At that size, these days plasma is quite price competitive and the picture quality much better - plus you don't have to worry about replacing the bulb every couple of years ($300+).
