Joh 19:11 Jesus answered, You would have no authority against Me, not any, if it were not given to you from above. Because of this, the one delivering Me to you has a greater sin.
Of course, in the first part, Christ was referring to His Father, who gives all authority to any earthly rulers. The second part refers to the Jewish leaders who turned Him over to Pilate based on false charges and perhaps Judas as well for betraying Him.

John 19:11:
11Jesus answered, You would not have any power or authority whatsoever against (over) Me if it were not given you from above. For this reason the sin and guilt of the one who delivered Me over to you is greater
Judas sin was greater because he Betrayed Jesus, Pilate did not betray him

Well, think about it. Who gave Jesus over to Pilate? Or, in other words, who brought Jesus to Pilate so he could sign the death warrant? The Pharisees, right? Jesus was saying that the Pharisees had done a worse thing, or sin, by handing Him over to Pilate than Pilate would do by not saving Jesus.

Pilate's power did not intimidate Jesus because God's authority overrules all human authority. Therefore Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me unless it had been given you from above."NRSV Pilate had no power over Jesus, for Jesus lived and died completely under control of divine authority. Jesus' statement about the source of all power further clarified the meaning of his earlier words, "My kingdom is not of this world" (18:36, niv).
"The one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."
Jesus referred to Caiaphas, the high priest, who handed Jesus over to the Romans, not to Judas, who had betrayed him to the Jews. For a Jewish high priest to deliver the Jews' King and Messiah over to the Romans for execution was an even more heinous sin than for the Roman governor to sentence him to death. Pilate was merely a pawn in a very elaborate game, but the high priest would be more severely judged because he should have known better. Caiaphas turned from the "light" in order to side with the darkness and made excuses for disobeying God's law. However, Jesus was at the same time clearly charging Pilate with sin. Pilate was responsible for his choices

The power from above he is talking about is the fact that God has placed Pilate in the place of authority that he has and that God can take away that power.
He that delivered him - he is referring to Judas.

I think it means that Pilate didn't have authority over Jesus unless it was from God. So what he was saying that only God has authority over Jesus, and no one else.
I hoped it helped.
Plus, it really depends on which version of the bible you got this from. But that's what I've been taught from the version I've been taught from.

"Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above"
Jesus is saying that it really wasn't up to Pilate at all. God had pre-determined he would allow Jesus to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven in this way.
No one can have power over another unless God willed it to be.

my version reads:
"Then Jesus said, you would have no power over me at all unless it were given to you from above. So the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin."
I take that to mean that God gave Pilate the power he had over Christ to fulfill His ultimate plan, and because essentially one of Jesus' friends handed him over (judas), he had the greater sin.
I'm glad to see alot of people above me agree with me. :-D

Anytime, in Bible Jesus said : Someone above, or Lord, it was always meant GOD, Jesus's GOD. The One Who Send Jesus down to earth to teach and to show the existence of God. Jesus's Lord.
