I have read several questions here asking why someone should wait to have sex. Let me give you some concrete reasons why...
1. It's part of God's plan. He wants us to wait because making love (not having sex) is such a special gift for a married couple to share.
2. STDS, unwanted pregnacy, and the consequences of those two things.
3. Making love is the closest you can get to someone physically. When you meet that special someone and marry wouldn't you want them to be the only person you were ever that close too.
4. Getting married as a virgin shows your spouse that you loved them before you ever met them.
If you are currently not married and having sex/or have had sex it doesn't mean you can't walk away from that. Give that over to God and make a new vow of pureness. When you fall in love and marry you will understand how important it is. Plus you will have honored God by recognizing His plan for you.
I know this was not a question, but I hope it helped those in need.

I am not condemming anyone or anything like that. I just walked a dark path in my past (before coming to Christ) and would save others needless pain.

I wonder about a lot of things with this question.
Were did the message come from that it is OK to have sex before marriage?
Family background?
Size of town/city /rural one lives in?
What excuses are given to have sex?
At what age do people have their first experience?
Does the media make a difference?
Are parent/guardian aware of young peoples actions?
How old someone is?
How do people over 30, 35. 40, 50 feel about being a virgin?
Is having sex the only way one feels they are needed?
Is Christianity a part of life? How much?
What morals were taught in the home?
Do people say one thing then do something else?
I could go on and on and on.
I was raised Methodist, I am now a Catholic. I went and go to church regularly. Church for most people is one day a week. The six other days people are influenced by the world. I believe the message is very clear for some and very clouded for many.
MY Bottom Line: Absolutely No Sex before Marriage. I came to this by gathering information from many sources. People can interpret information anyway they want.
A Christian who is true to themselves and God, won't have sex before marriage.

Part of God's plan? Well then, I was never married, I was in a common-law relationship which is kinda like marriage for 10 years and I have a beautiful child born out of that relationship I haven' been with my ex in over 3 years and my son is 5. SO I AM CONDEMNED NOW because I NEVER MARRIED and I have a gorgeous gift from GOD. My child. MY EX was my very first, I was a virgin when I met him, and I stayed with him for 10 years. Hmmm catch 22, don't be a hypocrite.

Congratulations!
Someone came out and actually gave strong reasons why not to have sex before marriage! :D
I really appreciate number three and four. . . . .
I completely agree with everything that you said and I hope this makes an impact on many people out there. . . .
I'm 18 and I plan to wait till I'm married.
I think that it's great to hear a guy appreciating and believing in this. . . . .
Thank You! :D

In answer to Doug J, God also gave us the ability to become angry and/or enraged, but most of us agree that acting on it is a pretty horrible plan. Having a sex drive doesn't justify having sex.

In my opinion, you are quite right, and seem to have the knowledge one would need to be able to make a decision like this.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, and have come to the same conclusion myself, my congratulations to you. Your stance on abstinence is powerful, and my spirituality has the greatest impact upon my chosen lifestyle.
I do not condone promiscuity, and there is nothing more saddening to me than to see someone desecrate their bodies. I also do not judge them, I am sad for them though.
As the joining in love is an amalgamation of limitless passion and ecstasy, and it is wasted when abused.
Blessings,

You're a very smart person and you have made some great points here. People need to think more like you. Its hard to find people who care about sex out of marriage.

The reasons you gave are pretty lame. God created us with a sex drive and the art of making love and these gifts arrive in puberty.
