... and raised our children to be nudists themselves, thereby eliminating any sort of lustful aspects from the human body. If we all grow up with something constantly present in our daily lives, it would enter normality and no longer be treated with a "sinful" glance.

So... would you be opposed to such a dramatic conversion? To eliminate improper thoughts from the human body in regards to natural nudity? What are your thoughts?

Note: Disregard the health aspects of this, sunscreen and clothes would be worn in climates/conditions where it is needed.

I have thought about this concept also...and it is true that the more we accustom ourselves to seeing, the less it will affect us.

However, it will not necessarily stop the sexual thoughts. Given the fact that fifty years ago a woman would not have shown her nude body in a movie....and today it is quite common to see nudity or sexually explicit scenes even on television....it has not stopped sexual feelings...or actions. In fact, statistics show sexual crime has increased drastically from those days.

My mother said something to me when I was young that has stuck with me. It was:
Familiarity breeds contempt.

What this means is that as we grow used to something that once shocked us...it takes more and more and more to shock us. Fifty years ago, the sight of a nude woman was immensely sensual....today, some guys are not affected by nudity but require something more...perhaps a rape scene or other form of violence to excite them. This not only applies to sexual things but to all things. Some of the music lyrics for example use language today (and it is accepted by most people) that would have had the singers jailed just a few decades ago.

If you've ever watched the I Love Lucy shows, you will note that in those days, it was unacceptable to see even a real husband and wife in the same bed on TV. Compare that with Sex in the City.

I'll answer honestly, yes I would be opposed.
Although we are born naked, clothes are immediately put on us.
It's been this way from the beginning of time and I don't see it happening ever.
It would not be practical or safe in this world today.
Picture everyone driving cars, going to dinner, mowing the lawn, walking down busy streets, etc.
You wouldn't be removing lustful aspects either.
They will be there with or without clothes.
It is funny just to imagine it though.

americans are more uptight about their bodies than say, europeans or some asian cultures.

i remember sitting on a beach in sweden and this 90-yr old man started taking off his clothes in order to enjoy the sunny day. it was awkward and embarrassing for a minute, but by the end of the afternoon, it became a non-issue. by the end of the week, it became passe.

the improper thoughts that can lead to disaster and violence do stem from unhealthy attitudes about our bodies and their purpose. in order to keep safe (especially women and children, who as a group, are the most murdered and raped) we need to put up barriers and be paranoid.

If your premise was correct, nudists would never have children. Lust is a lot deeper than clothes.

well, for one thing it would be very uncomfortable, sitting on benches at parks maybe splinters or if they are metal getting burned, running or jogging would be another problem imagine that. sitting down on a seat behind someone else and getting germs transmitted..etc.
just to weird for me.

I guess as long as everyone got a bowflex and a tread mill it'd be ok.

The churches are full to bursting with pedophiles as it is. Why provide a buffet?
