Seems to be a human "hobby." Centuries, even millenia have been devoted to 'false-gods.' So much so that we may now consider it to be traditional (as a species). There is hardly a false-god out there that someone hasn't worshipped at some time or another. Of course anyone, engaged in this tradition, will take particular umbrage to having their current object of adoration called a "false-god."

1. Learn your own theology before attacking other people's.

2. Freyr is NOT a false god . . . not to me, not to my ancestors. And he's been worshipped a whole helluva lot longer than Jesus.

3. What is "lost?" I know exactly where I am. I'm pretty sure most here do as well.

All affirmations are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense.

read The Uses of Enchantment: The Meaning and Importance of Fairy Tales by Bruno Bettelheim
And
The Power of Myth by Joseph Campbell

Bettelheim posits that if children are allowed to read about the trials, tribulations, successes and failures encountered by the heroes of fairy tales, this will better prepare them for the trials, tribulations, successes and failures that they will encounter in their own lives.

The role of the hero figured largely in Campbell's comparative studies. In 1949 The Hero with a Thousand Faces introduced his idea of the monomyth (borrowed from James Joyce), which outlined some of the archetypal patterns Campbell recognized. Heroes were important to Campbell because, to him, they conveyed universal truths about one's personal self-discovery and self-transcendence, one's role in society, and the relationship between the two.

All this is true of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, I assume the Qur'an, Book of Mormon, Vedas and the Bible.

Isn't Jesus the son of God?

Why say things like that to make people mad? You're a bad rep. for the Christian community (that includes myself) when you go around causing trouble in the name of Jesus. You're supposed to love everyone & respect all. Give it a rest, all you're doing is fueling the Christian-hater fire.

Many American Indians were originally considered to be Barbadians or like animals and yet they had their wise men and priests. These people were even more spiritually connected or aware than we were back then. What you do to the least of these, you do to me also? Were they part of the lost tribe?

If you are not following Jesus you are following a thief. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) The devil is this thief that comes up with false teachers and religions. False teachers and religions only come to steal, kill, and destroy. So this makes the devil a liar. We have already learned that Jesus is the truth. Do you want to follow a liar or the way, the truth, and the life?

How ignorant are you? You have probably offended many people. All other gods and goddesses are just as valid as yours. You are such a closed minded person how sad. You give God-believers a bad name. Open your eyes, you probably haven't even looked into other beliefs. And just as others gods are valid so is the possibility that he DOESN'T exist.

Jesus is just as much a false god as any of them (except of course the FSM).
