If it is benign, yes.
But if irrational faith is introduced into public discourse (eg creationism, legislation of sin) then it is fair game. It's fair game if someone propagates lies about the relationship with religion and fact (eg. America is a 'Christian Nation', our laws are based on the 10 commandments). It is also fair game if you tell me I need to find Jesus or that I'm going to hell, etc...
Certain beliefs are intellectual poison and deserved to be mocked out of existence.

Yes it is very childish especially when it it obvious that the person doing the mocking has little knowledge of the other persons faith and in some cases little of there own. I have found that those who resort to childish mocking and not respectful discussion are the ones most ignorant of the beliefs of others and their own faith.

It is not childish to have a strong faith in one's belief, or to stand up for them, but it is childish to use such a faith to denigrate someone else for doing the exact same thing.
But childish comes also from a lack of faith as well, for if one is secure in their own beliefs, such attacks are not even necessary. You do not attack someone who says 2 + 2 = 6, no matter how insistent they become, simply because your faith in the right answer allows you to have patience, that the truth will be revealed to them some day, when/if they are ready for it.
But it must be said that religion/spirituality usually attract the most immature to begin with, so such actions can be expected. Holiness is a process and journey, not a destination.

Actually mocking someone's faith is very childish. I don't think there is anything wrong with stating in a mature fashion why you disagree with their beliefs.

It seems to be something a hypocrite would do. Besides, if you were a faith based person than just consider it a test of "your" true faith and character.

It can be....It can also be childish to be afraid of calling a fool a fool, when they are one. That person might think they are being 'mocked', but actually its worse. They are being condemned.

Ofcourse, we are all immature or insecure in our own beliefs at one point or another. Hopefully we continue in a faith that leads us on to maturity. That maturity leads us on to the Truth of Jesus Christ.

Nope!...I think it is childish to say you respect some ones faith and you know nothing about that faith, or you just want to be politically correct.
