The holiness Christian faith believes women not are not to wear make up, style or cut their hair, must wear long dresses and keep their arms and legs covered. However other women from other Christian faiths dress much more liberal. Some wear tight pants to church with lots of cleavage showing. Some women will show their belly and the old tatoe on the back just above their butt when they are at church. I guess my question is this...in dressing should a man or woman dress extremely conservate or as a Christian woman can you just dress any way you please and just say "it isn't my fault those men were looking at my butt and boobs at church service"?

I myself believe in an inbetween. Not too conservative but not revealing to the point that it makes a man gauk at you.

OH YEAH...I just gotta make sure everybody understand I am just talking about how they dress while they attend Church services. I won't even ask how you feel about how to dress in everyday life.

We are suppose to dress modestly. Little to no cleavage, tops should have sleeves (but doesn't have to cover the arms) and covered to your knees. Overly tight or restrictive clothing isn't appropriate either as church or general wear. ( of course there are exceptions)

Basically, you want people to focus on you...you show yourself in your eyes. So, if you are wearing clothing or anything else takes away from people seeing you, but has them focused on something else you have or don't have on, it isn't appropriate.

Modest dress is selecting those pieces of clothing that are appropriate in each setting. For example, a one piece bathing suit at the beach would not be appropriate in church. Or for that matter, a long dress, covered arms and legs etc. would not seem appropriate at the beach and would draw attention...so it works both ways.

Men can not be blamed for the way in which their minds work. They are much more sexual than are women for the most part....and they internalize what they see...whereas a woman can look at an attractive and perhaps even a semi nude man and appreciate his body without it becoming sexually exciting to her. That of course is the extreme...both ways.

People say that it is a sign of respect to God to show up at church dressed up (men or women) But really does God care about what you are wearing if you are having an affair with the pastor or if you are sleeping through the whole service? It's not about outward appearances. It's about what's on the inside. Not just in church but everyday.

Cleavage and tight pants would make me religious.

No one but the woman in question should dictate how she dresses.

Personally I would like to see women continue to dress in ways that please the eye. I would also prefer that they stop wasting their time and attractiveness in churches....
