NEVER EVER BREAK A BLISTER FROM A BURN.
It is the body's best defense against infection of the tissues under the blister that were damaged by the burn. If you break the blister, you risk severe infection and very slow healing of the wound. If you just leave it alone, maybe cover it with a dressing to protect it, it will heal more quickly and you will not get it infected, much less likely to scar as well.

Go to the doctor and ask him or her what to do. Popping it could cause a serious infection. The next time this happens run it under very cold water to stop the blistering. You need to keep it under the cold water for a minimum of 15 minutes so that it stops burning. Than wrap it in some soft material and when you can put something on it for burns. But first make sure that the burning is stopped first. This is how my father treated burns and he was in the NY FD for thirty years so I'm sure that he's right and this is how we've always treated burn even when my sister got third degree burns on her abdomen. He put her into the shower until the EMT's got there.

DO NOT POP IT! One of the biggest complications of burns is infection. By popping the blister, you risk introducing germs to the underlying wound. This is a second degree burn and you should really seek medical attention. There is a cream called Silvadene that is used on burns. It is soothing and it is antimicrobial. You need to get it through your doctor.

Get thee to a Minor Emergency Clinic. You have a second-degree burn and you would be unwise to attempt to doctor it yourself. Popping a blister can lead to infection - something that saving a few dollars is not worth risking. If you were on the job when this happened, you might be covered by workman's compensation insurance - be sure to report the accident to your supervisor or boss.

Holy crap I don't know how half the people on this site are still alive. Listen to the RNs DON'T pop it, don't put Vaseline on it, definitely don't put friggin' butter on it....but I'd poke a little hole on the side and cover it with neosporin, blisters just don't feel right, just make sure it's covered and doesn't get infected.

first thing you should is soak the burn in cold water to draw out the heat then put butter on it. you should have done this when you burned it and the butter would have not allowed it to blister. don't burst the blister you will run a risk of infection if you do. after you soak it in cold water and put butter on it bandage it up so its protected.

As far as I know, your not supposed to pop them yourself. Your supposed to let it heal and pop on its own. Sounds like you could use a trip to the doctors. If you must pop it on your own, I would sterilize a pin and use that. Put some triple antibiotic ointment for burns on it.

Don't pop it! Just cover it up and keep it dry. Apply a little antibiotic ointment first. Your intact skin is the best prevention for infection.

Don't pop it! The chance of infection is greater if it pops. Put aloe on it and if it pops on its own make sure and keep it clean.
